Southwest experts please help ID this cue

How does the term "pre-date" apply to this cue, and how can it be attributed to Jerry Franklin when all, but literally a handful of these had blank screws, and I think the marked cues had just a cactus?

Looks legit. Nobody would go to the trouble of putting phenolic tube to hold the rubber bumper like that .
And from looking at the butt taper, it looks right.

Thanks to all for the feedback.
Pookster if you see any of these for 1k please shoot me a pm I would be very interested.

I probably over paid a bit but it is hard to put a price on the hit of this cue.

Side note i use to collect fairly fancy cues but recently I have found that the playability of the simple merry widows is unbeatable. Previously my player was an early JW birdeye maple widow hits a ton. This SW hits better justs feels like butter in my hands.

I plan on doing a deflection test with the original shaft vs 314 if there is any significant difference i will post a thread.

Oh yeah this one.
Saw it on eBay a few days ago.
So you're the buyer.
It's a Pacifier.
Decided not to buy because the guy was asking too much considering the cue's condition.
Congrats tho.

The style of the pin and the patina of the cue i.e. The rich mahogany phenolic both point to being a Franklin era

as everyone has already said, yes, it looks totally legit.

these usually sell on the secondary market for between $1200 and $1800 depending on condition.

if you fell anywhere within this range and the cue feels perfect to you, then you did great and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks.

it was for you to play with, not an investment, right? ;)

enjoy it!

best,
brian kc

Just so u know, you can also send it to SW and she could restored the cue to Like-New condition. :)
