Spanish Open, June 2023, from Matchroom

Anybody watching from Germany? In Poland and until yesterday in Germany i was able to watch on matchroom.live. but today there is nothing and nothing on YouTube. On the event page they don't list Germany and say:anywhere else on matchroom.live. streaming rights suck, but even more when you are traveling 😐
The final day (and sometimes the day before) is only on the premium paid services the last few MR events, so this one is probably the same. My DAZN in the USA just expired, and I did not renew. I think its also on free Sky sports if your country has that channel.

I thinks it's an American/gambling habit reaction, that's now confronting it's truth.
When I see someone from a different country say it/act it out, it can/does feel weird at times.

Yeah, why apologize?

It then seems to feel like the typical/gambler? pool player ''soft sell'' moment, is occurring. :)
I could be wrong, but I've traveled thee above road bahFore.
With all the intermix of players from such different countries & mindsets.... this is cool.
The variety of cultures, gives the viewer a plethora of body actions during play.
The game keeps these men grounded from those they've been around before and not enjoyed.... While growin' up havin' to pay your dues.
They have Good mutual respect for each other, Love it!

nah, it's an euro thing as well. snooker players do it too. i remember a mid-level pro not do it in the WC qualifiers some year ago and there was an argument after the match. but he just said it's not personal, i never apologize, luck evens itself out in snooker. which is the truth, in pool as well.

fairly good pace, not much second guessing and i expect the second semi to be the same. labutis in particular seem to hit the ball in a very determined fashion, almost never rolling them in

Danny McGoorty touches on it in his bio by Robert Byrne as well. During an event in the mid-sixities (I think) with several European and Asian 3-cushion players coming over and they often made apologies for getting kissed into points. So the concept has been around in some form for a while it seems

sky-dang 2-2. very uncharacteristic miss in that rack, but his opponent followed it up with an odd miss of his own
