carambola is just like saying point
or describing the game, carambola= carom
depending on how its used

What type of billiard does the following terms mean in english
1) bricole
2) cabana ( should be ‘enye’ i think )
3) carambola

so maybe it is 1-cushion game?
Cabana translates to English = Baulk
So my guess is Carambola = straight rail.
Bricole = 1 cushion
Cabana = Balkline

One cushion in spain is called bande,
I haven't seen it or balkline played in south america yet,
balkline is called cadre through most of europe and in spain as well where it's played like one cushion at a very high level,

Imo:
Bricole: I say it appears to be akin to "bank", a shot type, rather than a game type.
Cabana: in this context, a point. It means goal in sport, so I guess it is the objective of a shot (to score).
Carabola: no pocket billiards. Likely differentiation from poket billiards, "biliar""
Bricole is a French word. It is listed in Shamos's Encyclopedia where he points out that it has been used in English since 1591 (probably for a kind of tennis). Evidently Spanish carom players have also adopted it. The dictionary quote above is wrong.

It's why I asked if you had a country of origin in mind. We will have better luck asking people from that place since these are likely colloquialisms.

Well you have the answer for number 1 and 3 no doubt just need the second
of course there are regional uses of terms and innuendoes of meaning among countries
i understand that
but i would think in a sport there are common/standard terms that everyone knows
regardless of regional "slang" terms
since these terms are in several billiard books/pdf/sites etc
i would think they are standard
even if called something else colloquially
even if i am wrong
its hard to believe that there are no spanish speaking viewers who would respond

the only one i think i kow is carambola as a gerenic way to say billiard (for 3 cushion)
the others i think are more specific in the type of 3c billiard
cabana i am not sure if its short table shots or umbrella
bricole i am not sure
