I'm not sure on the specs, but I know that when Earl played for cuetek that his cues were STOCK CUES off the shelf....He let me hit a few balls with his cues some years ago when he was still sponsored by them, everyone always swore they were not the stock strickland series cuetek's he played with.
I played with a strickland for about 4 years when I was younger....the same one that earl shot with and when I drove his cue around I couldn't tell any diff at all.
Its BS Earls Qtek wasn't STOCK....and I see no reason that Shanes would not be.
Your being sponsored by a company they want you to use their product, if he wasn't then it wouldn't be their product we are all buying.
just a guess based on previous arrangements,

I believe that most cue sponsored pros play with "stock" butts. As with Shane's R-360 cue, the butt is stock, but the R-360 shaft is "juiced", (that is re-tapered from stock and possibly a different ferrule and definitely a different tip!).

I think it is something like this, but I haven't been able to find the exact one. I know the wrap goes all the way to the butt like the cue above, but doesn't have the same design.

Did Earl's cue have a super long pro taper on it?
NO it didn't, it was a stock SST SHAFT on his cuetek player forget the length of taper but it was stock, I would have noticed a diff. ( This was back in 03/04 I believe)
But his cue he has now which is a meucci has a insanely long pro taper on it....told me Bob would not taper the shaft like that for him so he got someone else to do it (can't remember who)
I don't know how he shoots with that new shaft on that meucci of his.....Earl is earl i guess lol

Thats not what he plays with. What he shoots with doesnt have any points on it. Just seems to be a greyish forearm with a linen wrap.

Last October in Great Falls that was the cue he was using. I saw it and touched it with my own hands. Never in a million years would I forget those goofy rings!!
That's interesting. His Gulyassy (I think it was) that he had after cuetec dropped him also had that super long pro taper and I assumed the cuetec also had it. I'm pretty sure Van Boening's cuetec has a similar long pro taper.
