Spousal abuse

I think we all know what spousal abuse is or has a good idea.

What we don't know or understand is why the victims of spousal abuse keep on returning to the abuser.

After a while how can anyone care about the victim after they keep on going back to be abused over and over and over.

Then the abused scream , I have been abused....................... again :bash:

Again and again:scratchhead: I was abused by the same tournament........

I tried to give you a greenie but it said I had to spread it arround :)
When I first read this on my I phone, I thought you mis-typed the 1st sentence and was going tell you to re-read it.
But I just read it on my PC and it was me, not you.

Interesting post, but it's more than the "he/she-abused-me-numerous-times-so-I-am-leaving-him/her" mantra.
Wishful thinking indeed.

(This is to everyone)

I find it difficult to believe that in the 21st century we all don't understand why victims remain with their respective abusers; and, yes, there are MANY reasons that compel the victims to remain, which are too numerous to list.

Suffice it to say, let's QUIT judging the victims here and start looking at the abusers as to how to prevent the abuse in the first-place.

I have never been to the US Open that everyone is complaining about Jay H
and Barry B.
I did go to the US open that was held at the Sands Hotel in Reno Nevada back in the late 90's and 2000.

Every year there is this mess about the US Open, normally its about how dis organized and players getting paid slowly or not at all.
and about how Barry B drinks allot and is cheap and abusive.

What bothers me is why, Why does everyone have to put up with this.
I love to play pool and I like competition as long as everything is being done honestly and according to the tournament guild lines
But when things are not being done why doesn't the players draw a line and say hey we can take this tournament down the road if a few people got organized.
If not no one is forcing people or players to keep on returning to the US open year after year.

In all honesty if the US Open is really that badly managed and operated why would anyone subject themselves to that kind of Bull $hit every year , year after year
Without saying screw this and not going back or get the tournament organized so every year there is not some kind of major drama.

Personally if the US Open is really that bad I wouldn't want to go and don't understand why anyone would go back year after year.

The title of U.S. Open winner is one of the most sought after titles. Because of that, the players suffer the pain of the trny because the prize at the end makes it worth it to them. The potential gain is greater than the discomfort.

My .02...
From what I remember from the threads last year, the reason they keep going back is the status of "U.S. Open".

What about Jay ?

I don't know Jay personally but my impression is the man has a passion for the game of pool and he is honest and conducts himself professionally when he is being contracted as a tournament director

Pretty disheartening to me. and I don't think its right what happened to Jay.
I also wonder why the US open cant be fixed !

It's kinda like listening to cue makers tell you don't even think about being a cue maker . They tell you about the pitfalls and nightmares .
Then, what did you do ?

I hope the checks don't bounce.

You are right, what happened to Jay appeared to be wrong, but I wasn't there, and can only base my opinion on the threads I have read here. If they are correct, then I applaud him for standing up for what appears to be good values and distancing himself from crooked practices.

As far as fixing the U.S. Open, also, last years threads, Barry owns the name "U.S. Open", so someone would have to pay him big money to get it away from him (seems I remember something silly like 40 million).

I had a good time here. Except for almost breaking a leg in the VIP section!!
Glad I could see what was not shown on PPV.

Pit falls and night mares

Then, what did you do ?

I turned around and bought a couple more lathes and dabbled around in my buddies fully equipped machine shop, and tooled myself up to make pool cues and bought a pickup load of exotic woods.
