Spyware rip-off?

Bought a spyware program on the 'net.
Never received it. Filed claim with PayPal.
PayPal's resolution:

PayPal was not able to resolve this case because the item in question was virtual or intangible. We are not able to adequately investigate payments
for intangible items, services, licenses, or other digital content. Because
of this, PayPal has not taken any action at this time. We do keep track of
buyer complaints, though, and have noted your dissatisfaction in the
sellers account. Sellers who consistently are subject to buyer complaints
are investigated.

I feel for you and I'm sorry it happened to you.

Just an FYI though .... with the superb freeware programs out there for controlling spyware that don't bloat your system and use up valuable resources no one should have to pay for a suite program.

In case anyone is not aware, I can help by offering some program ideas. All of the following are available at no charge through www.download.com

Spyware Blaster
Spybot search and destroy
Malwarebytes
Avast Free anti virus home edition

None of these programs are resource hogs and all do a great job of controlling any type malware.

In addition, you can visit the microsoft website and search for spyware programs. Microsoft offers a few of their own at no charge as well.

I'm curious which one did you buy? All the reputable ones offer free versions for home use, this business model makes money off of corporate licensing and stealth office introduction and acceptance from people using it at home.

There are a few spyware scams disguised as anti-spyware. Typically you get web browser dialog box stating that your computer is infected and you need to upgrade, or it pretends to perform a fake scan and tells you that your software is out of date and you need to pay for the upgrade.

Most online software sales offering a "hardcopy" usually for a few dollars more. Always buy the hardcopy. Then it is no longer an intangible item.
