Dont ya think there should be a tour for the Grandpas in the group...let say 55 and older.

Some body should be able to put that together. It would be nice befor we loose some to the big pool hall in the sky...

55 is "grandpa" age? Boy, you sure just got crossed off a bunch of Xmas card lists! :D

However, you coyly only put the first name and initial letter of last name (in some cases, misspelling the name), so perhaps you created enough of an aura of doubt that those mentioned below can't say you were talking about them. ;)

Let's see, you left Efren off that list (he's over 55). And I don't know who "Alen H." is -- can't be Allen Hopkins. "Buddy" could be anyone's buddy. "Grady" could be Keith McCready's alter-ego. "Jay H." could be... Jay Hlavachek but I can't be sure....

And ooo! I see Pat Fleming's full name there. You just got crossed-off the gift card list at Accu-Stats. :p

good idea

i'm in for that one. i am 58 and got 5 grandkids and one on the way. don't know what that sienfeld is talking about and i don't think he does either.

I did play in one of Steve Mizerak's events back in the 90's. It was for players 50 and older. It was the only one held out West, at the Peppermill in Reno. He had a full field of 64 players and Bill Ganne beat Nick Varner in the finals. I finished tied for 16th and won back something like $500 (entry fee $250). Bill Ganne beat me 11-9 (he said it was his toughest match) and then Buddy beat me 11-0! I did not shoot at an open ball until it was 7-0. I did win four other matches.

If they had something like that now, I might try to play again. Maybe I would get lucky and draw Joy Boy. :smile:

There would no doubt be tons of us who would love to participate. But as you know, Jay, it's always the funding. Who could put it together? Who could get the backing? Grady had a senor event or two at his room last year, and there was very poor turnout.

Mark Griffin had dabbled with the thought a few years ago-- at least the idea of having a senior event at the DCC; but nothing ever came of it.

It would be lovely, though!
