Stack Wrap/Cue Value

..a stacked wrap will only add to the overall appeal of the cue. The only thing to consider is the color. Personally, I think you could severely limit the future salability of the cue by opting for a color (like green, blue, etc). Staying with neutral colors like black or limiting the amount of secondary color, as you have intended, should maintain the future broad appeal of the cue.

I put a blue n gren stack wrap on a cue once, fit the colors of the cue pe perfectly to me, but not to anyonew else. Go black or brown. It wil;l look GORGEOUS.

David...

You know what would look killer on the Harris, AND has an incredible feel...cork. You can't see a whole lot of the cork wrap in the picture below, but I think you will get the idea. Cork is a players wrap and holds up very well contrary to what most believe. The cue below is a pfd. Paul executes a cork wrap very well. Just my $.02...;)

Jamie, I think you are right about the cork wrap.

Believe me, he's seen almost all the leather wraps possible at my place including lizard, ostrich, kangaroo and various different leather variation including three stack leather wraps.

In the end, he loved the black smooth ... which is also my favorite. Once black never go back :D

DJ, I'm happy for you and glad everything turned out alright and I should be getting a cue with sea snake skin sometime in near future  Martin, I'm expecting a commission check :)

Cork Wrap

Speaking of Cork Wraps, This is something I always wanted to try but never have. Can anybody tell me how much it costs on avg to have a cork wrap installed and who are some of the top Cuemakers that do Cork wraps.

Thanks........Paul

Paul, cork wraps are tricky on a finished cue. Generally they are more labor than leather as the cork/rubber has to be sanded to the level of the cue without touching the finish. There is always the risk of having to refinish a cue for free if any mistake is made.

As a previous poster mentioned Paul Drexler does them flawlessly. So does Ned Morris. Call them for pricing (PM if you need phone #'s). I have a cork wrap on one of my cues. It has a real nice feel to the hand.

I would appreciate some input from the AZ experts here.

I have been reading the threads about Stack Leather wraps and have been thinking about trying it out one one of my cues. The best candidate is an ebony Bluegrass cue that I own.

Question:

Would having Tiger install a non-original stack leather wrap diminish the value of the cue? It is not a high-end Bluegrass, but it is rather unique in that I have never seen another all-ebony plain jain with ivory and silver rings.

Your feedback is welcomed, thank you.

I would think it would make your cue more valuable and I really like the way stack leather wraps feels on a cue. I've thought about trying a stack leather wrap on a cue myself. I don't own a cue right now that would be right for that type of wrap, but if I buy one later I may have a stack leather wrap installed on it.

I have a question about stack leather wraps that maybe someone can answer who's reading this thread. I had a friend who had a stack leather wrap installed on one of his cues and he said that it made his cue weigh 3/4 of an ounce more! Does this sound right? He had no reason to lie or make this up and I certainly wouldn't want to add that much weight to a cue by changing the wrap.

It's been my experience that leather wrap does not add any value to the cue. For some reason, when I try to sell a cue with leather wrap, everyone who's interested in it are linen wrap fans :)

Hey now..as a founding member of cue kickers I disagree. I always like linen, always dislike leather. I just find something else that I dislike so I can keep on kicking.
