Wondering what would be a good dia. for joint protector's, wanting to make a few dozen to work with lathe and finish options.. thanks ahead of time

I understand pin style/cue maker will make a little different, was going to order cheap plastic sets to get an idea. Just thought someone might share a little info..

I agree with above .860-.880 if you want to put a little lip on it

I usually make mine with a little lip on them .860 or .870 should work for almost all cues. Most cues are between .825 and .850. Of course there are exceptions.

I make them bigger to protect the finish on the edge, helps to keep from chipping.

there is no standard . I have made over 2000 sets and yet to come up with what works for everyone . I had a guy last week end wanting his Butt protector .850 and the shaft protectors .848 . Go figure , HUH GL JIm

Thank You all.. Like I said just getting started and would like to work on some of the different phases of cue building on a smaller scale.. plan on making the joint protecters in the popular pin styles and giving them to the local jr. players here.

850

Start at .850 or .860. You can always make them a little smaller but you have to soak em to make them larger.
