Start Date For Bonus Ball To Start?

Glad I informed you. If you think I'm making this up I will make a wager and post the email.

I know which email you're referring to. After all, I wrote it.

It states the very earliest possible date that things could be ready. It does not however, state a new tentative launch date.

How big of a project is this new arena? How can they not pick a date now isnt there a new contractor involved that should know when they will be done.

It has nothing to do with the new contractor. He can't bring his sub trades in until the city passes the permits. We're stuck playing the waiting game.

Regardless if it's a megaplex, or a woodshed, without permits you can't do anything.

EDIT. Just to clarify, I have absolutely nothing to do with this fiasco. I'm in charge of the production. Marketing and construction are not my responsibility. As such, when I saw "we", I'm referring to everyone involved with Bonus Ball.

I thought the city was fast tracking permits for you guys I thought I had read that in another thread. I hope everything goes well and speeds up before all intrest is lost with the fans.

You have obviously never worked in construction ;)

actually I do work construction and have for almost 20 years and it was once said this project barely made it to 6 figures so if the permits were in place which I thought they were, any good company should be able to set a realistic shedule and be on time no matter if its a new building or just a remodel.

Unfortunately, the league will not start on February 7th as intended. The match dates however, will remain the same. For instance, the schedule for week 5 will still take place on the second week of March. Any missed weeks will be moved to the end of the season to maintain the 22 week schedule.

*** That's what I see in part of the email. That states the second week of March, not the earliest possible. Hopefully they get it together and get started. :)

Regardless of when it starts, I hope it does well!
It would su%k to be in limbo for something that is beyond your control after putting your time and money into it..
On a side note:
There are guys at the room I go to who bought 2 sets of balls and they are liking learning to play it.
Good Luck Guys,
Mark

Very. True.

I have supervised construction jobs that are likely 100x the cost of this one, there is ALWAYS a set date for the finish of a project. Even if the date is moved back, another date is ALWAYS set.

Granted some municipalites are sluggish on permits, but you're usually not just stuck in limbo waiting for a permit unless an engineer has a problem with the design. The locality wants you to be up and running as soon as possible as it increases jobs, revenue, taxes, etc in the area.

This is correct, however the interpretation is wrong. The statement about week 5 is the same as it would be for week 22, which will still take place on July 5th. "For instance" implies an example of how the delay will not alter the current schedule, and reassures the players that anything they've booked during their team's off-weeks will stay constant. At no point was a new start date chosen by Larry or myself.

Maybe they are a little gunshy to announce a "Date" at this point. Since the other dates have been changed in the past L'm sure they don't want to do it again until they are VERY sure. Just my thought.

My thought is just spotty management overall. Nothing they have done yet seems to be very organized.

I don't care how bad the construction of a project is, it doesn't put things off almost an entire year.

You don't announce 4 or so start dates on something this "big," and never make a single one, without some really poor management.

I wish them well and truly hope they turn out to be a success, but being a realist and looking at the facts so far..........things are shaping up not to succeed. If they are having this much trouble now, what are they going to do when they have "real" problems that come up while they are running full speed?

Im glad its starting but i hope this is the last time. Instead of focusing on a game that has no entertainment value they need to just have top pros playing an all around championship. That would make for much better television. Bonus ball just is not appealing, and i know i speak for much of the community when i say that. Sorry if this offends you die hard bonus ball fans but the game is extremely boring. Regular pool games are fun enough to watch......if its not broke then why fix it?
The thing is to many people the game is broken and needs fixing. Personally I think if they played 8-Ball a recognized game to all level of players it would do much better. BUT unless I am putting the money they are into this my opinion means less than nothing. They must have a reason, Maybe Bonus ball is the game that is needed to change things up. Then again I don't know crap.
