Status Of The Billiard Encyclopedia

Dear Friends & Members,

I would like to fill you in on the current status of The Billiard Encyclopedia.
First I'd like to apologize to all those that have already bought the book and expected it's arrival May-June. We are going to be a little late. ( I promise, not 6 years this time) Some of the fault is mine, in that it's hard to stop adding to a book like this, but, I wanted this edition to be so over the top that it would make a lasting contribution to our sport.

I will continue to offer it (the regular edition) with free shipping in the U.S.A. (which can be substancial) until I have a firm date of arrival, and it's physically here. As it looks now the book will be here in July. Once I have a firm shipping date I will post it on the site.

I want this Billiard Encyclopedia to stand the test of time, so there will be no compromises for me. With 640 pages, 350+ new pages, 1000+ images, 5 foldouts, thousands of cues, new cuemakers and collector sections, additions to every chapter, etc. etc. will make this the difinitive edition for the ages. Some of you may have seen hand bound copies at Hopkins, or at our recent cue show in New York where the reaction was terrific.

In addition 150 of the 300 leatherbound collectors editions have been sold so far.

I hope this answers some questions. All I can say is, please hang in there a little longer and that the third edition will be well worth waiting for.

Thank you all for your interest and your patience.

thanks for the update Vic. Ill be waiting.

I was hoping to take it on my vacation trip in july as its the only time of the year where i have some time to read.

Did you check on the shippingcost to Brussels - Belgium ?

Greats, Solly

Glad to hear about it. Look forward to adding it to my library. Good luck with thing falling into place.

thanks for the update Victor. Waiting since last September ;) and have enough patience to wait till July. Good luck eith your work.
Solartje, Vic mentioned that air mail rates to deliver the book to Europe could be prohibitive. We could calculate the delivery cost ourselves once we know how much exactly the book weighs (and expect it to be heavy).

It will stand the test of time IF you keep it updated with a Billiards Encyclopedia website.

You could add/change delete cue makers, players, stats, blogs, rules, etc.
And make corrections as they are found.

As for German (or Europeans from Austria /Switzerland/Netherlands/Belgium etc) Customers: Our first shipment from Victor will arrive with us shortly. So whoever is interested can get his copy through us.

The book is a MUST HAVE for everybody interested in the sport and the history.

To Vic: Thanks for the book, the help and be well :-)

Is there a website about this to order from?

Thank you,

Steve Hathaway

My bad, I had given the link to the 3rd Edition of the Blue Book instead of the Billiard Encyclopedia
