Why is it so that they should call the field stellar. With the likes of Marlon Manalo as the only proven player from the philipines playing. As to the likes of Efren, Dennis, Django, Ronnie, Alex, just to name a few that are absent from this event. Please someone explain.

and no Mika Immonen either, though they said he was going to be there.
anyone know for sure who is there? cant keep up with the false advertising?
:P

The entire world is watching, to include Edwin Reyes from the heavens above. RIP, Edwin Reyes!

Well it's most likely that the promoters don't have the support of the major players. And last year the same promoters held a World 10 Ball Championship that was also absent the top Filipino players.

The recently murdered Edwin Reyes stood up and questioned these promoters in this open forum and warned that there could be a problem with payment and sure enough there was a problem.

Now Edwin has been "conveniently" assasinated just a month prior to this event so he can't speak up about it.

However all the foreign players who knew Edwin knew that he is a friend indeed to all them thick and thin and shared amazing hospitality to them when they were in the Phillipines. It would not suprise me that a lot of players are staying away from a promoter who now has a track record of poor payment out of solidarity for Edwin Reyes and his values.

I notice that there are only about 40 players in this 64 slot event. When you can't fill a 64 person tournament in pool crazy Asia then there is something seriously wrong with you.

Dear Edwin Reyes. We may never know exactly WHO had you killed. But be sure that as long as your friends live we will carry on the fight against those who continue to be unjust to the players and that includes the promoters of this event who were your enemies then and who have become our enemies now.

"If it's good for the players it is good for pool" Edwin Reyes

Raya Sports - Yen Makabenta - and Star Billiards - you are not good for the players or good for pool.

we thank everyone who believe on Edwin, Edwin is a good man, Edwin is for the player, Edwin is for the right of pool, and look at what they did to him.

Something is seriously wrong if they can't fill up with 64 class players for the kick-off event of the new WPA Tour!

After all, this tournament have no entry fee and $ 80,000 in pricemoney.

We know why the top Filipino's arent there, but why arent players such as Niels Feijen, Mika Immonen, Chia Ching Wu, Johnny Archer, Imran Majid, Thomas Engert, Oliver Ortmann, Tony Drago, Nick van den Berg etc playing?

Why are the field consisting of a lot of players unknown to me?

Does this prove that players have lost faith in Raya Sports after their very late payment after the World Ten Ball?

I certainly do hope so.

Could it be that the top players are finally starting to support the BMPAP and the fight that Efren, Django, Pagulayan, Alcano, Orcullo etc have been fighting?

I certainly do hope so.

The next big tournament on the "WPA Tour" will be the China Open. If the top players supports that event, perhaps the WPA should start considering if Raya Sports and Yen Makabenta (Man of the Year 2006, puke) are worth having as partners.

If I had $ 80,000 added pricemoney for an event, I would fill up the field with top players without a problem.

When someone can't manage to do that, when hosting such an event IN THE PHILIPPINES, something is SERIOUSLY WRONG.

Time to wake up WPA
