hi there. does anyone here owns or have tried sterling angora soft case?

here's what it is:

is it good? is it soft enough that it can be folded and put inside a travel suitcase/luggage without destroying it? i hope i could get a feedback because i'm planning to ask a friend of mine in the US to buy one for me and he'll just put it inside his luggage when he flies here to manila, philippines next month.

thanks.

I don't know about that particular case but Sterling stuff seems pretty good for the price.

However, I'd be real surprised if it would fold in order to fit into a suitcase. I have a similar soft case:

There is NO WAY it folds. While the outside is softer than a hard case, it still has some structural integrity and it is not about to fold up. You can't really even bend it. I'm thinking the Sterling is probably about the same in this regard.

Hope this helps.

I own one of those. And they are a great case for the money. I've had to order about 5-6 of them in the past few months, cause everytime one of my friends sees how light weight and compact they are, they want one.
They will bend if you wanted to bend it. But i would recommend it cause i dont know how they are constructed on the inside. Try sending a PM to John Barton, maybe he can give you more info on the construction.

But this case is a great choice for a low cost high quality alternative to the leather ones.
One thing to keep in mind is that it wont fit a cue bigger than 58 inches. My cues are 58 inches and they barely fit in the case. So nothing bigger will fit in this model.
Good luck.

The one you pictured can be folded when it is in the completely open position. It might develop a crinkle from being folded and compressed though.

This one however is the one that will work for you: This is my new design on the soft case. It can be easily folded. The sleeves are offset so that the cues don't touch each other. It has extra padding and if need be you can put extra cues in between the sleeves when the case is zipped. The pockets are set at modern lengths to accommodate most jump cue handles.

You can find it online here: http://www.cuesight.com/sts0n3.html
At $55 it's more expensive than the other case but it's definitely worth every penny for the protectiveness and utility.

John, what would you recommend in a 2x2 for traveling? Im thinking of picking up something light and durable for packing my cues inside my luggage. I like the protection of a hard case, but am looking for something light weight and easy to carry around.
That case looks nice, but 3 cues is much more than I would ever need. Does it come in a 2x2?
Thanks for the help.
Jeff
ps. Im loving my J Flowers tribute case and get so many compliments on it!

JB.... What's with the signature? How was Edwin Reyes killed? I missed this. Is there a link... don't want to hijack this thread.

I like that soft case!!

Regards, Jim

It does come in a 2x4 which is the same size as most of the soft cases you see on the market. I just pimped out the interior of it to hold 2x4 securely. You can find this one on CueSight as well, www.cuesight.com STS6K3 is the model #.
