Steroids in pool.

There is only so much strength needed to sufficiently hit the cue ball in any desired manner.

Draw shot-- the key to executing a good draw is not power it is stroke. While it is true that you need to hit it with some power, power alone does not make the ball come back any better. In fact hitting it too hard will just cause it to fly off the table.

Follow shot--- the above statement is the same for a follow shot.

Break shot--- This is the one time when you will use more power. But anytime you increase power to excess you decrease accuracy. I dont think steroids will allow you to hit the cue ball with max power and give you eagle eye vision so that you can control it. Beside the side effect would more that likely diminish your ability to control a max power shot.

They key to having a good, controlled power break is in your body mechanics. Not your muscles.

i'll refer you to Basement Dwellers comment which was also in response to something you said which it looks like you ignored i have copied here. and i am in agreement with him.

"I'm not so sure. I've actually been thinking about this for a while - not that I'm at all interested in using them myself but I've just been curious about whether or not they COULD be beneficial and I bet they could be.

I was a bit naive about their use in baseball at first. I understood that if you got stronger you would be able to hit the ball further but I didn't quite grasp that a lot of players were also hitting for much higher averages. It seemed as if their hand/eye coordination had improved. So I think if any drug could strengthen your muscles enough that you were able to control them a bit better you would be a better pool player.

I understand that the game of pool is not about power but it is about muscle/body control. It appears that steroids can help in this department. I'm willing to stand corrected on this though. I'm interested in what Chopdoc has to say on this, even if it's a lecture "

So you say "But the break is what separates th eboys from the girls and thats mostly all about power."

What about straight pool or one pocket? Are girls good enough for you then?

I would be interested to hear from the women on this board. Clownfish says you are inferior to men because you can't break hard. Personally I disagree, I think women can break hard and further more I don't think that power is what determines a good break.

Maybe you can get through to him, I can't seem to make a dent!

They/you just have to prove him wrong.

In your own time...

I read it, didn't ignore it, just dont really agree with it. I'll put it this way, say it works and you can control your maximum power like a god, to what end? Are you going to continue to take this your entire career? Have you considered the big picture? The long term effect of using this drug has proven that it will destroy any control that you think you have over your body.

Why not learn to do it without the use of drugs?

Do you think that extra 5 mph on your break speed is going to turn you into a champion?

I too would love to hear Chop-doc's opinion on this (which is more the reason why I didn't respond to it before)

How many women regularly break at 30+ mph?

Oh.

Of course there's a test for this one: juice women.

Was there something in your reply that had anything to do with my quote? If so, I guess I missed it.

How many men regularly break at 30+ mph? And why does it even matter?

Why do i get the feeling that you and Thaiger are one and the same?

I've only read a few posts on this thread, but there are many obvious differences in writing style;

1. He writes in American English, whereas I write English English.
2. He doesn't capitalise.
3. He's not figured out the quote function yet.
4. He doesn't always use apostrophes
5. He's polite and contrite.

Etc.

However, I'd also never heard of SVB before joining this board, and freely admit to being a tad sexist, so there is some common ground there. Strikingly, we're both stalked by people who misrepresent our views, then run off like little girls when challenged for evidence.

add steroids, sure the number will climb and be a controlled break. look at history and other sports.

Thats just it, I dont think it does help as much as you think it does.

Lol, how about your surgeon, would you want him to take steroids to improve his hand eye coordination?

It doesn't much matter anyways, if you want to find out and prove it to yourself then just take it.

You originally asked "Anyone have any experience with performance enhancing medicines?

Wondering if the answer to me turning pro, can be found in a syringe."

You either want to know for personal reasons or you just want other peoples opinion on the subject. I gave you my opinion, you decided to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong.

Don't ask if you can't handle opposing opinions.

Yuuup

already answered this

already answered and tried to clear up my intent on this

you decided to try and spin this into some sexist thin, and tell me that the incedible hulk wouldn't be a very good pool player, which was not the argument i was making, perhaps if you read and took a deep breathe before you started your replies, things would go smoother

Don't ask if you can't handle opposing opinions.

apparently i just can't handle your silly opinions, or confrontational tone

have a nice day..
