Steve Miserak's Balabushka

Collars

Never seen a Balabushka with any kind of ringwork other that silver rings? Anybody seen ringwork like that on a Bushka before? Ultra rare....
 
steve owned alot of cues but the bushka that was his player had a dove in it? do you have some picks of him with it that would be awesome. and if it has doc"s Id might be interested

I remember this cue because I had a copy of a book by Steve Mizerak and it included some black and white pics of his cue and some of his cases, including a all white leather 2x4 case with the Miller Lite logo on the back, from when he did the commercials :)

If I remember correctly, that Balabushka didn't have any inlays in the points either, and there were either only 2 or 3 dove inlays which were mother of pearl and there were no decorative rings on it either from what I remember :)

Perhaps the Bushak that I'm thinking of was another Bushka that Steve had George make, before George had passed away?

Either way, that is one mighty sick cue stick and a tasty piece of history too, thank you for posting the pics and good luck with the sale :thumbup:

How many Balabushkas did Steve Mizerak owned or pass through his hands? I recalled Tikkler stating he was offered a Balabushka by Mizerak, but turned it down.

Out of curiosity I looked through my copy of Steve Mizerak's Complete Book of Pool and it is not the cue he had in the pictures he did for that book (copyrighted in 1990). I was hoping I'd be able to come up with THE picture of the cue in his hands.

now THIS is an item worthy of the Holy Grail moniker without a doubt. This is the only sort of cue that Denny Glenn is interested in collecting. Famous cues owned and used by famous players.

Thank you for sharing it with AZB. I am certain you know all the people who might be interested and able to purchase it and could have contacted them without listing it here. I, for one, appreciate the opportunity to see it and read the story.
 
In response to those of you who wanted to see pictures of Steve "The MIZ" Mizerak's famous Balabushka cue, here is a picture of Steve and myself with his cue. Over 25 years ago, Steve offered me this cue for 10K, I wasn't sure if he was serious and always regret not buying his cue.. The Balabushka cue in this thread was another of Steve's cue that George made for him. I have played pool with both of these cues and I can tell you, they are both fantastic hitting cues. The cue in this thread is and will always be one of the most famous cues George built: Owned by 2 Great World Champions and winning the 1976 World Straight Pool Championship
by Larry Lisciotti. I tried to buy this cue from Larry but he wouldn't sell......... I understood why after playing with this cue...... it doesn't miss !!! I can attest to the authenticity of these cues and are included in my top 10 all-time favorite Balabushka cues .... it is a great reminder of the friendship I had with both of these great players. It is a great cue that deserves a great home......... Congratulations to the proud new owner wherever you are........

Wow.....Mark what can I say but thankyou for the time and assistance.

We have had a couple offers but none at quite the distance needed to accept.

Please recheck the 1st post as I have included the measurements and weights of the cue.
