Still not happy with my wrap

The cue originally had a black with green spec wrap

I sent it off to have a black lizzard print leather wrap put on it. It wasn't done right the first time, so I sent it back and had it re-done. Now, 1 year later, it's turned almost gray and it still smells like plastic.

I think it needs a different color wrap on it, maybe brown.?? Maybe stack leather is the answer? I'm convinced that this is not genuine leather like I was told when I had the job done.

I'm open to any suggestions or ideas, but I refuse to send it back to have them "try again".

If you want linen I would go with a white/brown or straight brown. If you haven't tried cork and want to try something new, I would get in touch with Ryan (ratcues) to see what he thinks would be a good match. Cork is head and shoulders above any other wrap type for me personally.

stacked leather

there are a bunch of stacked leather options that would match that cue great. Every cue I used with stacked leather i loved, even though I am a wrapless guy

Who does the best leather, or stack leather wraps? I'm thinking something that matches the wood a little better might bring it all together.

Any idea why this wrap smells like plastic?

I really like my wrapless cues as well. That's why I was thinking that stack leather would be the way to go

White with brown spec linen wrap.
Have it epoxy coated and polished.
Might as well get the cue re-finished.

Well, there is a chip in the ivory buttcap and I'm not sure what it would cost to have that replaced. I don't want to have the cue refinished without making that repair, and I don't want to sink a ton of cash into this great player

If you do something like this you can get an idea of what different wraps would look like. All you have to do is find one you like and paste it in.

Here is an example of a wrap from another cue in a thread pasted in.

Thats a great idea!...., but I don't know how to do that. This is too bad, because that would be the perfect way to choose between different colors and textures. I'm sure I'll end up finding someone to put a brown or wine colored stack leather wrap on it and be done with it

A stacked leather wrap would look good on that cue. Here is a general idea of what it would be like.
