A friend of mine had his cue stolen a couple weeks back and im throwing this post up for him. There was a police report and all pawn shops in the area have been put on alert along with constant checking on Craiglists but nothing so far. These are the best pictures that are available. Anybody on the Joss Tour please keep an eye out for it. I know chances are slim but you never know. Criminals think they are smarter than they are and do stupid things. Then again.... Players and Hustlers a like are more crafty.

If you see this cue or offered to buy it please call the authorities right away!!! We want to catch this scumbag if he tries to pull a fast one. Thank you to all that can help!!

The cue is a Mottey cue with the year 89 inscribed on the forearm along with 2 shafts
The case is a JB Rugged case with a no name break cue with 3 shafts

hope he is not hurt as he must have been robbed at gun point, as no one is stupid enough to be in a pool room and leave an expensive anything alone for a minute.

if he did the old saying "a fool and his money shall soon part".

What JJ fails to tell about the cue is that it has some pretty nice green inlay along all the prongs of this Paul Mottey cue. There is also a pretty sweet reward offered.

Cue thieves only understand their teeth on the end of a steel-toed boot.

You are referring to a concep called contributory negligence.

I would assign a very low % of the responsibility to the owner, in the commission f this crime.

Was that Dave Curtin's cue?

Thanks for your thoughts. To be honest this wasn't in a pool room and to even say such a thing about somebody you don't know really chaps my ass!! This is a really solid guy that got a raw deal with a pos douchebag. You insulting my friend is out of line and you should apologize

I sure hope they find the cue....Paul Mottey is one of the great cue makers...
...and it's irreplaceable...Paul retired.

I share the pain....had a terrible '95....had a Szamboti and two Rothwell one-offs stolen.

Again, was this Dave Curtin's cue? Because it sure looks like it and he isn't one to sell off a cue he's playing with.

Said it before so once more can't hurt... THIEVES SUCK!!!!!!!! An eye for an eye, I tell's ya!

yep .....and we need more jails and less lawyers. There is no robber, thief, mugger, etc that would confront someone that would hand their ass back to them.

No the guys name is Lenny. Great player to boot

Yeah, I just got a pm telling me it was Lenny. I know him, I think he and my son used to hang a bit. My son didn't play as well, though. Lenny moved back after we moved to South Carolina. He plays good or used to, anyway. Sucks that his cue was stolen.

if they broke into his house or car then its a tough break for sure. if they robbed him at gun point as well. but if he left it where some creep could pick it up and leave then its all his fault.
people steal things that are easy to take or tempting. so if you make it so, you are the fool and that would go for anyone.

You seem like a really nice guy.

You cant explain you way out of wrong.

The cause of the loss is crime.

Do you also think sexual assault victims deserve what they get as a result of attire?

Wow, that is a really beautiful cue. I hope that your friend can get his cue back someday. That is sad.

I am curious what happened exactly. Did his house get broken into, or how did the cue get stolen? Just curious.

Yeah, it is only tempting (to take something that is not yours) if you are a no good scumbag. But I am sure this world is filled with them.

Yeah, that is true. Taking something that does not belong to you is the same as stealing. I can't imagine that the owner just left his beloved Mottey just laying around in a public place, long enough for someone to walk by, and take it. If he did, then the cue must have not been that valuable to him. Sorry.
