A friend of mine has his cue case with two beautiful Prathers a break cue and all the usual accessories stolen. The owner of the establishment where the items were stolen put the word out that he had the whole thing on camera.

The cue case and cues were found lying by the door a few days later when the employees arrived to open for the day.

Happy ending!

Glad too hear he got them back I had nice case and two cues stolen from me not too long ago its the worst feeling ever I didn't get mine back though

That's good to hear. To many of these stories don't end well for the ones that got ripped off.

I had one stolen from me at a charity tournament that I was putting on! I am never surprised at how low some people can sink anymore.

I had the same thing happen in my pool room. I was broken into and they took like a dozen cues from behind the counter. I knew it was someone who was local and I may have even known. I did the same thing, I put the word out I wanted the cues back no questions asked.

One of the cues by the way belonged to a local gangster, a real bad guy and he added his 2 cents about what would happen if the cues didn't come back. Like a day later I get a call on the phone to look out side the back door. Sure enough every cue was there.

The stolen cue scenario is unique, because what kind of person could play with a stolen cue.
If you sell it locally, even if it's a ****ing Meucci, there is a strong possibility someone will recognize it, so it's down to the pawn shop, Craigslist, and Ebay.
I saw a cue that was stolen in Denver, sold on Ebay, then listed on AZ, and a friend here in Denver called me to ask if I thought it was a good deal.
Since the stolen cue was actually recognized here and the cops refused to return it to the owner, I advised against bringing the cue back into Colorado...bad karma.

The cue owner should give the owner of that establishment a gift certificate to the best meal in town as a thank you.

Good stuff Shooter.

Maybe someone who frequented the hall?

Word got put out, it obviously hit the right ears.

prather cues are stolen frequently, Im having dejavu. I think at one point they had a stolen cue section on their website, they do have some pretty cues.

Wow, very cool!! Was it really on film, or was that just a bluff?

Good things do happen sometimes! Years ago I was with some friends at Jillian's in Boston and left my coat on the 2nd floor at the pool table we had for the group. A couple of friends decided to take a break and go down to the arcade level to goof off and when I came back up to shoot another game my jacket was gone! I had my wallet with me, but my car keys were in one of the pockets and I had a $500 winning lottery scratch off ticket in the inside pocket of the coat.

Well, I begged a ride home and went back the next day to see if anyone returned the jacket... nobody had. I went upstairs just to check out if anyone was playing, spent about an hour playing a couple games, and on the way out checked the coat check/lost and found area and someone had returned the coat! Keys in the pocket still, great... AND the lottery ticket still in the inside pocket with a note that said "Sorry I took your jacket, I was drunk. By the way, nice hit on the ticket!" To this day I am still shocked that he was honest enough to leave the ticket in the jacket.

The place has been broken into twice so the owner did put in a bunch of cameras. He can watch them from his phone or any computer and they are recorded. Pretty good bet it was really on tape and not a bluff.

That's why I asked....if they indeed had it on film, why was the footage of the theft not taken to law enforcement and the thief picked up..... Just glad there was a happy ending for once.
