Ok, well last night someone made off with my break cue and cue case that had my tip tool, blue diamond chalk, joint protectors, and shaft cleaner/polisher in it. They must have been staking it out because I was only in the pisser for a couple of minutes and I'm a regular who knows all the bartenders and a lot of the regular patrons and none of them saw anything either. Thankfully they didn't take my playing cue and I had one cube of chalk on the table that they didn't take, and I have a spare 1x1 case, so I'm still in action until I can get some new equipment. Anyways I'm not here for sympathy; it was only a 100 dollar break cue and a 50 dollar case so it's by no means irreplaceable stuff, but it's fresh on my mind. Thankfully I took my car keys out of the case pocket earlier to let a friend into my car and didn't have my wallet in there like I sometimes do... Anyways I gotta ask:

What equipment have you guys had stolen from you at the pool hall/bar?

I've had a cheap loaner cue stolen, one that I kept in my case in case someone needed one but it still pissed me off that someone took it. It's the principle of it I guess. There was a guy in Chicago that thought it was weird of me to take my stuff with me to the bathroom but I didn't know anyone there and wasn't leaving 3k worth of equipment laying around for the taking.

Sorry you got ripped off, I hope the person who took it gets whats coming to them.

I've noticed that before, especially during certain tournaments

One night I met someone at a large pool hall in downtown Denver, that was filled with
techno types, and I watched babe walk across the entire room, and grab one of my cues
that happened to be sitting a few tables over.
Luckily she had huge tits or I would not of been watching.

Yeah I will definitely be taking my stuff to the bathroom with me from now unless I know someone I know is watching it. They have a camera outside of the bar so we'll be looking at the video, though it's unlikely a regular would have stolen it so I'm not getting my hopes up of getting it back.

I have a Whitten case and my main player is by Kenny Murrell. I always take my stuff with me to the restroom. Even if you leave it with a friend, the friend might get distracted and then what?

Sorry about your loss. It stings.

Reminds me, as if I needed the reminder, my one year 'loss' anniversary is in 10 days. A little over a grand...case, 5 shafts, jump handle, aluminum telescoping extension bridge, justa-bridge..blah blah.... still hurts.

And recent Hangemhigh threads further remind me to add money and a shaft to the total. More sting.

Hope you have some luck getting your stuff back.

yep, my player goes to bathroom with me, and smokes now too:eek:

I've never had anything stolen at the pool hall, but I did have a Scotty Cameron putter taken from my bag at a golf course. People like that deserve to die of cancer of the balls.

Luckily, I've never had anything stolen (besides getting hustled out of cash), but I did catch a guy trying to walk away with my case. I confronted him and I got the old, "I didn't know it was yours" line, which makes no sense whatsoever.

I also lost my jump cue a while ago, too but not from theft. My friend asked to borrow it and as soon as he picked it up he tripped, dropped it, and then stepped on it all in one motion, snapping the joint into pieces. Nobody touches my cues anymore.

Ouch... sorry for your loss

Never had anything stolen - i've even left cues in bars when i've been drunk - gone back next day and got it back -Once I even took a house cue home with me instead...

Far too complacent... i'm sure that the day will come when i get stung too - although if anyone watches me play, the last thing they'll do is want my cue...

Unless I am playing a friend or a friend is watching me play, I take my cues to the bathroom. Thtats because serving 20 years for killing the guy who took my cues would be rough, but I would still have to do it.

I had a leather coat stolen from me once.....with my car keys in it......and about 80 miles from home.:frown:

Good luck on getting your things back.....and karma to bite the thief in the d#@k!

My wife had my first custom cue with her and her higher end Viking cue that she won for being the top woman finisher in a Vegas APA tournament when both were stolen in some bar during her APA match. Cue cost me about $450 I think and hers I'm guessing was about $250.

I once had my backpack stolen while I was playing a few tables away in a league match. My smartphone was in it, as well as a project from work. I got a new phone, but lost somewhere around 15 hours of work I had done. That hurt more than anything because I'm sure they just threw it away.

I've also lost countless pocket chalkers, and I've had a few people grab my cue off the table and "borrow" it for a while. My playing cue is a plain black Predator P2 with no designs whatsoever, so in some rooms, it does resemble the house cues.
