OK, So I am sitting here having coffee, watching the history channel and they are showing a group of universities that got a $40 MILLION dollar grant to do a computerized reconstruction of stone henge so we can all see what it looked like from the beginning of time til now. I mean it's cool and all, but $40mil.....and not one red cent for a pool tour? :) seriously, when a "grantor" is willing to chuck that kind of cash at rocks?...not $39mil for old rocks and 1mil grant to a pool tour? no? How about a grant to study the psyche and mating rituals of pool players AT a pool tour event? no? nothing?.........amazing!

btw...$40mil is a stack of $100 dollar bills about 140 feet high...just saying. old rocks :shakehead:

A grant to grantee is different than a sponsorship to a sponsee.
Also, if you want to study the mating habits of a pool player, don't. It is revolting in the extreme, and should not be discussed on a public forum. :)

$40 million to see what Stonehenge looked like when it was built?

Ridiculous!

Why don't they just ask somebody who helped build it? ;)

I don't delve into politics often but the best hustle in politics is spreading money around and then getting speaking fees from doing the college tour.

Hillary Clinton gets $225,000 per speech on college campuses. They aren't paying her out of the kindness of their hearts or because they believe she will say something profound. They are betting she can provide a return on investment.

Yeppers! AND...with a $2.5 BILLION campaign war chest, she's touring the country giving speeches on how when elected, she wants to get money out of politics...

Ya gotta laugh or you'll cry.

My sister in law has a company that teaches people how to set up and run Non profits. Like 20 or 30 people will pay her like $3000. each for a weekend to learn this. One of her specialties is getting governments grants.

She will show you how to get money from the government for almost anything and it is easy. She lives in a multi million dollars ocean side home doing this crap.

When I was in college, I would have donated $225,000 to the college just to keep her away. I can't believe people would cast one single vote for someone of such low character and trustworthiness. It is like the standards of being the President (a highly nuclear country I might add) are lower than a first job at McDonald's flipping burgers. Maybe we could find her a job there.

The builders , if mortal died on site .

No, they are still there waiting for a final inspection sign off by the building inspector and an occupancy permit......but while waiting the stones toppled over and they got fined for littering :)

I'm a plumbing contractor, and MAN! the stories of dumb...ness I could tell about licensing, inspectors, permits etc. I can laugh now, but at the time....I can understand the term "going postal!"
