Straight Pool and 4 inch Pockets!

I'm a big fan of 4 inch pockets for 9 and 10 balls. I love playing straight pool but on 4 inch pockets it's brutal. Since there has been a few threads on record straight pool runs I was wondering what is the highest run on 4 inch pockets?
I'm at 46. What would that translate to on normal equipment?
 
I heard through the grapevine that Max Eberle ran about a 150 (not sure on the exact number) at Hollywood Billiards on a 4" pocket table (also heard he did it with a house cue, but this just may be embellishment).

Maybe someone else can verify this.

Putting together a really high run on such a tight table is extremely difficult because you really have no ability to cheat the pockets, something that is essential to straight pool. On top of that you are, of course, also shooting to a smaller target that will in itself cause more frequent misses.

Naturally it is difficult to actually equate it to anything and I don't know that this relationship would hold true at any run count, but I would say it is would not be way out of line to double that figure to 92 on a regular table with 4 3/4" to 5" pockets.

I think you just joined the 200 ball run club on 5" pockets. Congratulations!

Well, you might have to run 50 on your table to reach that mark. I did run 3 balls playing 1-pocket, which seemed like an 8 and out.

Richard Peck has a high run of over 200 balls on a table with 4" pockets, I'm not sure of the exact number but I think it's about 240. He only plays on that tight table.

With all due respect, where in the hell are you going to find tables with 4" pockets? Or, by the same token, any pros who have played straight pool on them.

My table has 4.25" pockets and playing straight pool on it is indeed brutal. 46 balls is a very good run.
 
I must be missing something. Most 14.1 players say 4" pockets are too tight for 14.1 but say they are fine for 9 & 10-ball. You don't have to cheat the pockets once in awhile in rotation? No one ever gets out of line? 4" pockets are for 1-hole and a gaff house table IMO. Johnnyt
