Streaming is the best thing to happen to pool

Who needs tv? Much better to watch a stream...stationary camera...with commentary is cool too. It would be great if during tournaments they had a camera at every table so you can switch between matches.

Yep, also been thought of, who will pay for the setup and the space to put the cameras? A lot of things would be nice to have, like pro players being able to actually make a living past the top few players, retirement funds, healthcare, national recruitment program and training for younger players, a real pro tour, hell some people wish they had free water.

If a Billard Parlor Operator were to put a GoPro or a high quality security camera over his best tournament tables....
The average Joe could have his shots recorded for a small fee.
He could download it later on a website.
Then when leauges/tournaments happen the system is already there.
Just write off the time used as a "Promotional Expense".

One table could be "training table" that has a couple of side view cameras for analyzing stance, stroke, follow-thru. The cameras are small and can be installed on the walls easily.

***Don't forget microphones at the table and Not on the camera!***

But you know what would be better? If everybody could have everything for nothing, always.

And i could ride my widdle bicycle outside in the rain and not get wet.

I also want to eat doughnuts and steak all the time, but be healthy like a kale and grilled fish mufukker.

Wake up.

Your idea is a very good one. Lots of Golf Course have a teacher/instructor on their staff. Imagine a great Pool Room that had a Coach/instructor on the staff & video analysis instruction available. Just imagine having a Pool Room library where DVDs & video tapes that can be rented, maybe even a special TV area to watch YouTube & practice on a Table. This would be great for those players who do not own their own table.

We have been doing Video Analysis for 5 years, our customers love it...

That would be nice.

It's coming, just wait. I remember going to tv production college and we used some cameras that the Jackie Gleason show had used when it was in Miami. These black and white cameras were donated to the college. I think the new price at the time was close to $50,000 each.

Now, thanks to technology and freedom, prices are closer to $50 each, with much better quality color images....and the net to "broadcast" those images to the world.

Remember just a few years ago, the calls here were towards getting ESPN to show more pool. Now, ESPN is losing viewers at a rapid pace while pool streaming is growing. Things change rapidly nowadays.

Just wait....many more marvelous things will happen in this area.

The problem is the people running pool are gouging the players. The players are as much to blame...nobody is speaking out...what do they have to lose? $8000 first place with the top players in the world in the field? How was Efren playing for $100,000 over a decade ago and now he's sitting on a stool in japan racking his own balls?

Do what the other guy said...set up cams...charge to watch live if you want...get sponsorships involved. Where is the Predator open? The Simonas open? The Diamond open?

Bring it up in the next budget meeting and please keep it in mind that we cannot eat leaves and shit money.

I would like to see a breakdown of the payout structure for any given tournament...just what percentage of the take is actually going to the players. By take I mean after all proceeds are considered...right down to the food and beverage sales.

Ok I'm going to enter the US open and as soon as I get on the "tv" table I am going to grab the microphone and call the league out on its bs.

Hope you're right...and you probably are. Live stream is a technology in it's infancy.

Thanks to live streaming, pool fans can actually watch top players in action LIVE! For a long time the only way to see the best players was to travel to a tournament, often an expensive proposition.

We are seeing more good pool now than any time I can remember and it seems like there is a new event every week!

It is amazing what great ideas people with no skin ( or money) in the game have for what OTHER people should do.

I hope pool never gets on TV again...it was so annoying how they would try to have all these different angles of the shot...panning in and out during the shot so you don't see the positional play...can't even see the players stance or stroke...good riddance.

Stream's

Has really helped my 'Lack of Game' tremendously :clapping:

Thanks to all and have a great weekend,

-Kat,

It would be really great if it got popular enough and Daniel could hire commentators like one pocket rich and bobby Leblanc, and pay them well.
