Home Depot.

Laser level $15 - 20
Laser square $35 -$45

I have a Bosch GTL2 laser square. I paid $40 on Amazon. Plenty of other home uses other than for a pool table.

I have a cheapo laser level it was maybe $10. When put on the table bed it shines more on the cushion than the bed. What specifically do you need to make it shine on the bed?

Mine does not work for putting doughnuts like the OP wants for this reason.

Do the better ones have a beam that rotates so it casts a plane instead of a line?

Yes...Mine is a Black and Decker, bought for $10 at Ace Hdwe. Doesn't rotate, but does cast a beam on the table. They're $15 now, but it comes with a case! LOL

I've got a level that shoots a beam from different heights and angles. I think I bought it at Lowes for around $30 or $40 dollars. I've never used it on my table though

laser

I bought a pen laser that will do a line or a pen point, The laser was not strong enough to lay a laser line on the surface of the cloth, it could be seen on the cushions .

I was using mine as a training aid for kicks and banks, but with the table light on as said above the laser wasn't strong enough, and I never looked for a stronger one.
