Suggestions/Help needed for One Pocket

First off I'll go ahead and tell ya I just played it for the first time yesterday. I had been asking for a game at a local pool hall for weeks and couldn't find a game for under $20. To be honest, I wasn't going to pay 20 bucks to get my butt kicked and not really learn anything. Anyways, before I get off topic I played a guy yesterday who seemed to be pretty freakin good. He would win 8-3 8-4 most of the time. I understand I'm not going to be the best one hole player over night but what kind of drills/games could I play alone to improve my game? Thanks in advance!
 
Make it a point to watch good players! There are also several books and videos available to assist you. I recommend the library of One Pocket DVD''s offered by Accu-Stats. accu-stats.com

One pocket is all about knowledge and creativity. You will improve most by studying, watching and playing it.

www.onepocket.org is probably a good start.

Ditto. I have access to one feature Scoot Frost v/s a Guy From Ohio (Dee Atkins?) that is at DCC GREAT VHS, and the other is in Louisana with Ronnie Allen v/s a gentleman named (GUY) that is also great.
 
One Pocket is cunning , baffling and powerful!Experience with a better player is the best drill.
 
go to fast lenny's site ontherailtv.com and watch the efren frost matchup.......watching the best 2 1h players in the world matchup for free........doesn't get any better

Eddie Robin has 2 books considered by many to be
the best on the subject.

Winning One Pocket
Shots, Moves, and Strategies

These books are out of print,
yet come up for sale here and
on ebay often.

I just saw another set being offered
in the For Sale/Wanted forum today.

If Back_Spin doesn't like $20 1P, I doubt he'll like the price tag on Eddie Robin's books. And CoCo,
who in the Hell is SCOOT Frost :confused: :confused: :confused:
