Mike Haines and I are about to put all of our old pool photos on a DVD. I have been looking for a great image to use for the DVD label and haven't yet found anything that really grabbed me. Anyone out there have a suggestion of an image we could use? The image can not involve violation of copyright laws as we will be selling the DVD.

Who was that that posted those funky looking time lapsed photos of his local pool room a while back? He had some really cool ones. I can't remember who it was.

Yeah, I remember that one...

Yeah, I think it might have been a shot of the pool hall where Luther Lasiter hung out. It was really neat. I'm thinking that I may go real SIMPLE and just use one of my photos as the background. Something like this:

Ive always liked the collage (sp?) look. Maybe a bunch of faces from the past, made into a collage.

Good idea

Maybe a collage of black and white photos of all of the greats using their most youthful looking pictures. Individuals would enjoy trying to guess who is who.

And #3 is....

Gary Spaeth as he appeared on the cover of the April, 1986 issue of Billiards News. (His name was misspelled on that cover!)

Wow, you get the AzBilliards Gold Star for 2006, an honor only bestowed on astute posters. :p

I think maybe another picture of Gary for No. 3 would be better. The one displayed is a little too small to decipher.

No. 9, I thought was Mary Kenniston. :o

I would also like to see some pics of some of the African-American great ones included, like Bugs, Munson, Cecil, and -- oh, man, my memory is failing me again, but there are others.

Jose Parica belongs in there too, I think, being that he was, in fact, the FIRST Filipino Invader.

Parica makes the DVD label

JAM, I have to agree that the pic of Gary Spaeth on the label was just too small for anyone to recognize him. I ended up replacing it with a shot of Parica as per your suggestion. The only problem is that it is also very small and I doubt that many would recognize the image as Parica in 1986.

Thanks for the help in designing the DVD label!

I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed ideas about the DVD label. I went with a collage as the result of a suggestion by RiverCity and included a shot of Jose Parica as per JAM's suggestion.

The DVD is now officially for sale. Here's a link to the post in the Wanted/For Sale forum where I have described the DVD: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=50223
