I haven't been to a SBE but have heard stories of it. Do cue makers set up shop at the booths?
It use to be the who's who....is it still that way?

I'm in DC(ish) and never went.ABSOLUTELY!!!...couldn't agree with you more, my friend...hey...at least we got to experience it...I'm sure there are many that have no clue to what we are referring....
That beautiful parasite will love the sbe.I envy those of you going. Last fall when we had to put our beautiful Brittany down, I thought my wife and I might be able to finally attend something like this. Ha, month and a half later found ourselves checking out the rescue sights and didn't take long, here we are again with another dog, a beautiful, funny, ball of energy 4 yr old Springer. Oh well, that's the way life rolls sometimes. Have fun everyone.

Yes...there are cue makers there...also several cue smiths, table manufacturers, as well as accessory vendors, and some pro players that endorse certain products have booths...it's still worth attending in my opinion, but it pales in comparison to when SBE occupied the entire convention center at Valley Forge...Allen did a tremendous job with the event...it's not his fault they decided to turn it into a casino, so he had to find a different venue...I haven't been to a SBE but have heard stories of it. He did do it for a while but ever since he stopped the magazine, he hasn't done the event there. I believe there was a table next to the predator booth last year so there is at least one there.I think someone who would know told me (a while ago) that Mr. frankel would be doing some 3c things.
I hope so, such a great game and Im sure if the big boy pool players spent a bit of time with it, they'd see it is exactly as appealing as pool...or moreso.
The game seems to have blown up (like a firecracker) over the last few years, worldwide.
Are you saying that you can't remember SBE at the convention center?...I believe Allen moved the event there, around 1993...it remained there until it became a casino, sometime in the mid 2000's...I cant remember the SBE there. I do remember something like that at the end of a movie
Nice.. I want in on that Vegas action. He did do it for a while but ever since he stopped the magazine, he hasn't done the event there. I believe there was a table next to the predator booth last year so there is at least one there.
I love playing the game too. Every time I am out in Vegas I stop by Venoms house to play 3C at his place. My local room has two 3C tables so I get to play occasionally when I have the time.
I remember Valley Forge and Seacaucus, but thats about itAre you saying that you can't remember SBE at the convention center?...I believe Allen moved the event there, around 1993...it remained there until it became a casino, sometime in the mid 2000's...
Ah...Secaucus was the very first...maybe 1992?...the next year it moved to Valley Forge for about 15-18 years, until it became a casino, and it went back to Edison, NJ for I think one year (maybe 2?)..then it went to it's current location in Oaks, PA....I remember Valley Forge and Seacaucus, but thats about it
2 years it was in Edison and it was terrible lolAh...Secaucus was the very first...maybe 1992?...the next year it moved to Valley Forge for about 15-18 years, until it became a casino, and it went back to Edison, NJ for I think one year (maybe 2?)..then it went to it's current location in Oaks, PA....
At that time I liked it because I only lived couple miles away in Highland Park. Oaks Edison and back to Oaks2 years it was in Edison and it was terrible lol
Valley Forge has a huge mall with a lot of high end stores that some malls don’t. Good shopping there if that’s your thing. Not far from the casinoDid I understand someone mentioning a shopping center nearby with several hotels/motels? I do not recall the name.
Yes.. you’ll get lost in that mall. It’s huge and because there is a lot of money in that area it’s still thriving.Thank you for the info
Yeah I can see if you lived close to the Event that you weren’t happy that it left. I don’t remember there being a 3 cushion event there at all. Space was so limited. They had the pro’s in an open area and didn’t charge for it those years. My guess was it was to hard to close it off. It was terrible. People would come in and out loudly talking and treating it like a lunch room. No respect for the game or players. It was also the introduction of the skittles balls lol I remember getting there and grabbing a table to hit some balls and was like wtf are these lol they must have grown on my because I bought a set a few years later. When it was in Edison they had nice 3 cushion events. Some top players and quite a few very strong players locally from NY, NJ & surrounding areas where 3 cushion is played by many.
Miguel Torres did some crazy artistic shot like 6 rails through champagne bottles or glasses I don’t remember.
The first night of the mini tourneys I did well.
Race to 5 so every inning was big and the lag even bigger.
The next night my wife decides to come watch me play which she never does.
I draw a friend who I’ve played 1000 times.
He runs 5 off the break and sits me down.
She asked how did you lose you didn’t shoot any balls. I said “exactly” lol.
The next day I go early and bang heads with a few champs races to 25 for cheap.
It was nice as I didn’t live too far from the event.
Perhaps you're thinking of King Of Prussia Mall?Did I understand someone mentioning a shopping center nearby with several hotels/motels? I do not recall the name.
