Super Billiards Expo thread

Where do you live where they don't have real poolrooms? I guess I have been spoilt around the DC area where there are scores of places to choose from. Besides Salisbury, MD this is the only other place I have lived in the US, and there has always been a decent poolroom around.

I live in a small town outside of Hershey, PA. For pool it's the worst place I've ever lived. You can find real pool rooms in other cities in PA but nothing around here. I have to drive a min of 70 miles to find one. There's a couple of places around here with 9 footers but there's no alcohol and a bunch of teenagers. Everyone here plays 8 ball barbox leagues which I abhor. I'm currently an alternate on a scotch doubles league just to have something to do to pass the time in the winter. I might play every couple of weeks. I never had this problem in SC or TX, both of them have an abundance of pool rooms to choose from. I've been here since '98 and my pool game came to a halt. I just started this league thing a yr ago. Spending 3 days in VF has given me the itch to play pool again. I never stopped enjoying it, I just don't enjoy my options. I'm looking to get a cue again and I guess I'll have to suck it up and shoot in one of the places that I don't like to shoot in. :(

Right on, Markus! Pam Treadway was on cloud nine after speaking with you about being sponsored.

It was great meeting you, too, and I hope to see you again someday on the tournament trail here in the States. I'm going to e-mail to you a high-res .jpeg file, the photo I snapped of you and Thorsten. That was funny when Thorsten said there was a misspelling of his name tag on top of the lights at the Pro event. :p

Check out my picture page of the event, Markus: http://www.hometown.aol.com/railbirdjam/2005SBE.html

The Super Billiards Expo is the place where pool dreams are fulfilled, and this year was spectacular for quite a few players, thanks to folks like you who enable aspiring pool players to live out their dreams! You're the best! :)

Here's a pic of Pam Treadway at the awards ceremony holding her first-place trophy in the Ladies Open!

Hi Jam,

I sure will check out you pictures. It really was a pleasure meeting you and Keith. It's fun to meet a person you only know from a movie of the past....His antics and his ability to generate action is unbelievable...

Pam is heck of agirl and she can really shoot.. I hope to hear more success strorys from her and Carol. The incident with Thorsten Hohmann's name sure was funny. Well at least for us..
Keep in touch, will you

Hey Jam,

Checked out your pics. Some great action there. Wish I had gotten a chance to meet you. Next time I will get away from the Fury booth more. If they let me.

Did I miss them? I've been watching for any pictures from the AZB get together Saturday night.

I was at the Inside Pool Party on Friday night but didn't make the AZ get together. Wish I had but due to tournaments on the tour I had to get back to the GA/FL border so I could get caught up on things. Ha Ha. Just got a new division around Lake Michigan and Pa is being worked on. That will put me at 8 divisions, I think
I had so much fun at the Expo and met so many nice people. Thanks to everyone and especially Allen for the fantastic time.
Kay

Would love to. All I need is a Tournament Director and we will certainly give it a try. Any one interested in being a TD for me can email me at kbp_amateur9-ball@gate.net or call me toll free ( I make it easy on you) 877-328-7449 and we will see what we can do.

It was great meeting you too Markus. Wish I had had a chance to hit one of your cues. I have recieved a report from JAZ. Everyone who has tried them, likes them. I liked to cracked up when my wife started singing that German song. The one that the words were changed on to meet todays political climate. :D She had you hushing her up. Hope to see you again soon.

Purdman,

that song was something ;-) You soon will have a possibility to hit with one of our cues. We are now establishing dealerships in the US.

My regards, to your wife

The AzBilliards Meet and Greet did go forth at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night at Chumley's in the Radisson. :)

Due to the Pro/Am event beginning at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, we couldn't make the get-together. However, I did speak to quite a few who did make it on over there. I thought that restaurant was MUCH BETTER than the one in the Scanticon for sure, especially the sweet potato fries! :D

And, Kay, I'm sorry we never got the chance to meet. I did see quite a bit of action over there at that Fury corner of the upper level. The last night, it sounded like you all had a band. Must have been one sweet party!

Here's a few more pics: some you seen, some you ain't! :p

Those were GREAT pictures, Markus, and a very nice write-up about the Super Billiards Expo.

Aside from the successful line of Eurowest cues, it should be said that it is folks like you, who promote pool and make things happen for aspiring players, that renew my sense of optimism for this game/sport. And in case no one has said it, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for just being there. I look forward to reading more about Eurowest in the future. :)
