Super Billiards Expo Trip Report

Awesome as usual creedo...

Your passion for the game bleeds through your words...

People like you keep me coming back here everyday...

Tx for being part of the AZ family

Great job.

Were you around Daniel Bush and POV Pool late Thursday night?

Awesome job, Creedo! I was saying to Bdoc, David Marcus and a few others, it sure would have been nice to stay there for longer than a week, in order to take some time to get to know all the people i've never had a chance to meet in person.

I love all these photos you've taken, and the coverage is amazing. I was so slammed with TAP that I didn't have much of a chance to do my own video coverage.

Anyway - I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to do the event and to meet only some of you that I was hoping to meet in person.

I was the kid you played late Thursday night while my buddy was trying to commentate. Was nice meeting you and appreciate all the streams you put out.

SBE was a lot of fun and I don't plan on missing another.

You're a very talented writer! Like others have said, I felt like I was there. You are very perceptive and I think you would make a great coach. Thanks again for doing this.

And congratulations to Perk! I really enjoyed that you focussed on his path to the money in two events. His performance is really impressive especially considering that he does not play all that much. I also don't play that much, but the difference is that I'd just lay a big egg at the expo.

Whew, this thing is finally done.
Took me a while but I eventually managed to write a word or two
about the pro event and the action pit.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read,
and I hope to meet you guys next time. Remember - nametags.

thank you for such a wonderful descriptive commentary, I almost feel like I'd been there!

Thanks for the pics !
(I see a "Michael Couvrette" in the pro event brackets, maybe this is him) Just to let you know the guy in the pic is not Michael I know him and trust me he does not shoot fast LOL

The guy in the pic is Mike D (not Davis), and he does shoot fast.

I didn't see the finals but Lil D took it in straight sets, 5-1 and then 5-3.
He tells us that he plays regular 500 dollar sets with Sam, and for them that's just
how they keep in stroke and it's no big deal. Apparently down south,
gambling for thousands is routine. If that's true I'm sure it helped him fade the pressure better.

CreeDo, I thought Sam won it? Is the finals bracket they posted at the SBX site incorrect?

And thanks again for taking the time to post this fantastic thread. I was there Saturday but this was able to fill in many of the banks for me.

oh wow, I spaced out and typed lil D when I meant to type sam. I'll fix that.
The brackets are (probably) correct.

Mike D... ohhhhh, Michael DeLawder. Gotta be.

Creedo, it was nice meeting you and sweating the matches we did together.

Your write up captures a lot of things I noticed being a first timer at the expo.

However, one thing that really got me was watching the late night match ups.

At 5:30am on Sunday morning, John Morra and Timmy Heath were matching up playing banks. Morra had to shoot opposite handed and Heath was playing one-handed.

Heath was spouting off his jibberish (ex. Here fishy, fishy, fishy) and sauntering around the table. At one point someone mentioned he had chalk on his face and he proceeded to take his cue stick and adorn himself with an "ash Wednesday" mark on his forehead. What a trip.

Regardless of the theatrics watching these two play this game made me want to quit pool. Heath was hitting short bank 2 railers like it was child's play. Morra opposite handed could still spot me the wild 5. It was quite impressive. Wish I could of found out the game line.

I was there and that report was great. I think I had more fun reading the report than watching live. Good stuff.

green to you, creedo, for this brilliant report.

you captured the back of my left shoulder (in black t-shirt) which was just in front of you in the pit in your morra pic.

I must say, I never realized what a sexy rear shoulder I have. :D:thumbup: :D

thanks for sharing your experience.

next time, let's say hello.

EDIT: Just tried but I "must spread it around"

best,
brian kc

Damn, I was inches from the kickin' chicken?!
I'm looking at the shoulder and I'm trying to contain myself.

I'm telling you, nametags.
You too Metallicane. I just ordered a shirt that will make me easy to spot.

Ben, was good to meet you as well, also Corey. And the other dude whose name I forgot.
I wish I coulda watched more matchups but Perk was dutiful about getting to bed by 11 pm,
so he could shoot half-competent at 9 am.
I told Shaun Wilkie almost the same thing, after watching his set.
"Man, watching you makes me want to quit pool forever."

Nice report thanks.
One thing that jumped out from the pictures is the need for a dress code, what business would want to be associated with and sponsor pool with that image?
