Super Billiards Expo Trip Report

If I was not there, this sort of writeup would make me want to show up!

It would make any pool player want to show up.

I just did a quick look at all the threads and the accompanying views that the Barton-Figueroa grudge match has produced. I found 31 separate threads spread over four separate forums, with a staggering 127,249 views so far! I'm sure I missed a few, and I believe a couple were deep-sixed by the mods. All that over a couple middle-aged men in gray hair matching up for a ridiculous amount of money that neither one planned on betting in the first place.

In the meantime, this spectacular report on the biggest pool event of the year hasn't broken 3000 views yet. Guess that shows the mentality of this place.

Consider this a bump for a great thread. This one should be archived somewhere, it's just too good to fall into oblivion.

Great trip report. Would make a great magazine piece. Especially love your man on the street human observations. Did you say "jewfro" lol?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Pocket: thanks! I'd enjoy writing for a magazine.
But would a magazine let you get away with "jewfro"? Probably not :)

Sloppy: Cheers, I am glad even that many read it. Luckily I type fast
so it didn't feel like work really.

Slasher: Kings of Vapor! And a few others :) But yes, it wouldn't hurt.
The thing is, it's an amateur tourney, and it's a thousand people in a single elim barbox tourney.
A dress code would be a little much. It would make sense though for both the pro-am and pro event.

Damn, I was inches from the kickin' chicken?!
I'm looking at the shoulder and I'm trying to contain myself.

I'm telling you, nametags.

You too Metallicane. I just ordered a shirt that will make me easy to spot.

Ben, was good to meet you as well, also Corey. And the other dude whose name I forgot.
I wish I coulda watched more matchups but Perk was dutiful about getting to bed by 11 pm,
so he could shoot half-competent at 9 am.
I told Shaun Wilkie almost the same thing, after watching his set.
"Man, watching you makes me want to quit pool forever."

best,
