Hey Bob, no worries on the post. I can understand where you are coming from because red oak is the most common hardwood in today's commodity market. The problem is this isn't just any ordinary red oak. It is quite literally a one in a million piece of wood. Boone paid top dollar for this wood because he recognized how special it is. Our customers want the best, so we pay our loggers, mills, and importers to send us the best. And just because people aren't asking for an oak cue doesn't mean they wouldn't buy it. This stuff is sick and seeing it in a cue might change your mind! Oak and Hard maple are nearly identical in terms of hardness, weight, and specific gravity. So to me it seems like it would make a good cue. But I'm no cuemaker. Just the wood guy. Have a good weekend all.
