Hi I have a cue that has already been made. Now I'm curious, can you re-cut a wrapped cue and make a solid wood handle? I know if you could you would have to refinish etc., I wouldn't mind paying for that.

Dumb answer:

You could indeed have the cue re-cut, but at best, you will have
a very thin cue. In all likelyhood the wood that is now covered by the wrap
will be a plain, possibly even ugly piece of maple.

The wrap section could be replaced by an attractive piece of wood.
In this case the cost would be very high and it may well be a totally
different cue.

IMHO - the better option would be have someone install a veneer wrap.
It would be similar to a leather wrap. There are many attractive woods
available as veneer.

Hi Dale.

I don't think I have ever seen this, do you have any pics of a cue where this was done?

Not yet. There would be a couple of considerations. I don't think you
could get the "invisible" seam, so in vouge these days with leather wraps.
Fitting the ends would also present more of a challange than leather.
One might even have to accept some comrpemises.

Yes, It can be done and have a nice wood handle if that's what you choose, The best place to start, would be the one who made the cue.
