Superstitious?

Hi all,

Wondering how many of you are superstitious about pool game, rituals, equipment or other things. Any memorable stories of known players with quirks like this?

I don't consider myself superstitious, maybe a little stitious lately though. When I came back to the game a year ago after a looong time off I was lucky enough to win an AzB gold drawing for a nice Predator Blak cue.. This cue plays great but is not my style, so I've been seeking one that is more traditional and fits my personality better.

So far I've been through about 6 other cues both production and custom, no matter how close they feel to the Predator I lose with them (even with another Predator). Always, I can shoot great in practice but lose tournaments or competitions with anything other than that damn black Predator...

So I'm starting to feel like this cue chose me and I'm stuck with it like bad wife.

Love to hear some stories...


PS - anyone interested in a mega-trade where I send you 5 cues and you send me one nice on in return?
 
Damn right I am.
I never go to the pool hall naked. Every time I tried it I had nothing but bad luck. :eek:

I play 3C, and whenever I am going to shoot a twice around the table 5 railer I always like to say, "where's the kiss?" on reverse psychology grounds.
 
I don't like playing 9 ball when the 1 is racked in the front, every time I do I lose!

I hope JAM chimes in, she has some really funny stories about Geese and superstitions.

Did you try racking the 1 in the back of the rack and try "kick breaking"?
 
I have seen lots of players wear the same shirt every time they play in a tournament or gamble.
If you look at the pictures of the champions at the DCC, you will see a couple of them wearing the same shirt, in different years.

I have my ritual before I go shoot at a table, I would not go as far to call it a superstition. And no I do not want to trade you a nice cue for five crap cues, but good luck with all that lol.

I never said they are crap cues, in fact one of them is a quite nice PFD along with a nice Samsara and a few quality production cues...

Do you mean your PSR, or more like tap the chalk five times type things...
