Did anyone get a chance to ever see him play? What's this I hear that he made an advertisement saying he would play anyone for $1,000,000? Did he really play all that good or was he all talk?

I'm pretty sure you can find this subject many times if you search the previous threads.

He was hanging around Belleville, Ontario, Canada for a while a couple of years ago. Playing at the local pool hall quite a bit. Nothing really special about him from what I can see, just another pool hall average player around a c level!

He must have had some kind of game, I just don't know what it was. He was on TV one time in the 80's in a partners match. I believe Allen Hopkins, Wanderone, Mosconi, and Superstroke. I distinctly remember him making one shot and only one shot. I also remember him missing his other shots. But, I can't remember what the race was, the game, or whether every game was shown.

The last time I saw him he had a booth at the BCA show. He wasn't selling anything just standing in the booth, him and I think his wife, it was strange. He is kind of a nut. He was a minister for a while.

I heard that he was a good player. I also heard that george balubushka sponsored him until he found out that christoper had posed nude in a magazine with his balabushka. That is funny

> The way I heard it was George found out he posed nude with one of his cues, and George cut him off the next time he tried to order a cue. He was aslo notorious for short-changing people. For example,he'd come up to you and ask if you had change for 100,you give him change and he'd use some distraction or sleight-of-hand and take the 100 back plus 60 of yours, without you catching it. Grady mentioned this in a Accu-Stats tape, and told me personally he nearly made a living at it. Tommy D.

I saw all those ads he ran in the 90's. I thought he was just hot air, but then I saw a picture of him from the Johnston City tournaments listing the
top players who were there. So I guess he really could play at one time. If he was not a player I would guess someone would have taken his money.

That could have been James Christopher the name you saw, he was a good player back about then.

HE COULDN'T BEAT TOM THUMB! Hello, it was all a con! Sorry if I burst someones bubble, but all the old time guys know the truth about him.
At least Fats could play, Bruce couldn't draw his ball. And probably still can't.
He is mentioned in Danny D's new book for his ability to shortchange people. I'm sure that's his best move. My suspicion was he was trying to get someone to put up a large amount of money, and then he was going to somehow disappear with it. Make it look like everything was on the up and up, and then vanish. He was good at that as I recall. A thief is a thief is a thief.
I remember when he was hanging around SoCal about ten years ago, trying to work similar cons. Just so you know, what I'm saying here I would say to his face. And I'm twenty years over the hill as a pool player and I'd love to play him for ten large, as long as someone I know held the cash.

You couldn't be more right, Jay. JAMES CHRISTOPHER, could have given Bruce Christopher the 8 and have been stealing.
