Support the BEF and help spend Dr. Dave's, Bob's, and Jay's money

The purpose for this thread is to rally support for the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF). This is a good time of year to do this since the BEF will be hosting the Junior Nationals Tournament outside of Chicago July 13-16, 2016. This event can't happen every year without financial support.

To help provide encouragement to people to contribute, Bob Jewett, Jay Helfert and I will match all AZB contributions up to a total of $1500 ($500 each) between now and the end of June, 2016.

The BEF is a great organization and a good "cause." They supports numerous Junior State Championships and the Junior National Championships, and they sponsor juniors to attend the WPA World Junior Championships. The BEF also encourages juniors to stay in school and further their education while building and maintaining a lifelong love of billiards through the “Pool In School” program. To contribute and trigger a match from me, Bob and Jay, make your contribution on the BEF donation page and post your amount here (or send me a PM if you prefer to remain anonymous). Samm Diep will verify the donated amounts and I will keep an updated total in this thread.

FYI, the BEF is a non-profit organization and your gift will qualify as a charitable donation, which you can claim as a tax deduction.

Please contribute whatever you can, even if it is only a few bucks.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and for supporting the BEF. Young players are the future of pool and they need and deserve out support.

I urge everyone to support the BEF, the absolute best program we have for Junior players in the USA. Samm is doing a wonderful job with the BEF and she works long hours to make everything happen. I don't know how she does it with two young daughters to raise and a hungry pool player to feed (luv ya Marc!).

I'm glad to join Dr. Dave and Bob Jewett in supporting this great billiard program. People are always asking what does Pool need to grow, and the BEF is exactly the type of thing we need more of. I encourage you to dig a little deeper for this good cause. The more money they raise each year, the more they can do to make pool fun and exciting for our next generation of pool players. Samm and her people will do all the work, we just need to throw a few dollars their way.

Thank you so much everyone! We have created a high school billiard program, and brought over 40 junior state championships to our nation this year (and 35 last year). Our goal next year is to have at least one in every state! Your contributions help us continue our efforts and keep our programs alive.

I forgot to mention! Thanks to Diamond, we will be drawing for a 9-foot ProAm in July during our National Championships. Tickets to be entered into this draw are $40 each or 3 for $100. Please email info@billiardeducation.org with a copy of your donation receipt with your mailing address and I will send you a physical ticket stub and enter you into this contest as a token of our appreciation.

Thanks Samm. That's awesome. So now a donation:

1.) Goes toward a great cause, which one can feel good about.

2.) Provides a tax deduction.

Why are you three making yourselves dependent on others? Why not go ahead and donate $1500 each and set an example for others?
