Whats the best place to buy surgical tubing where i was getting locally has been out for a few weeks.
The last place I got some was Home depot. It was in the plumbing area if I recall correctly. Was around $24 but at least I didn't have to wait for it to be shipped.

I bought some at a medical supply store. They sold wheel chairs arm and leg braces and so forth was cheaper than home depot. They cut and sell it by the foot.

Good thought Joe. I've got one of those down the street from me. I will check it out.

A while back, Bubsbug was bragging that he works in a hospital and they throw out boxes of this stuff, so he brings some home. I sent a PM asking to buy some, but no response. Much the same as when I sent a PM to him asking to purchase a couple of the laminated shafts he was bragging about so I could give them a try.

Medi Care

I also get mine at the medical supply store. If you have one in your area you should give them a shot.

i tried the same route, place called MEDMART
i told the lady working there i wanted 50 foot of it without checking the price
i was shocked that thier price was $3.90 a foot
holy S***!!!!
i said "no thanks" and went ebaying

Already went that route $2.10 -$3.75 per foot at all of them here and I checked with about 10. Anyway got 50ft for $22.50 on fleebay

woodcraft stores sell 3ft diameter 1\2" wide rubberbands look like art gum rubber. I believe it was 50 or 100 bands for $12.00. Look a little weak but after a few wraps you can shot the dog across the room. I bought some but havn't tried them yet....

Try checking other medical supply stores, I found one after several trys that only charge 1.00 ft. Not to bad compared to other and shipping cost.

Last time I bought some I got It from a medical supply store about a mile from My house. I don't remember It being that expensive, and the size I got was alittle thicker then I really needed. Seems like one time I got 7-10 foot and paid under 10 bucks. I think they may have moved, but I'll check and see where too, and price It again. My luck they probably sell It for $3.90 a foot now too, cause the last time I bought any was about 2 years or so back. The price of just about everything has gone up since then. :(

Asking as a non-cuemaker, aside from some kinky bedroom games, what do you use this stuff for?
to clamp woods together
gets tighter more evenly than you could ever do with c clamps
and it's great for water balloon slingshots too

It's used for holding in points and spread the pressure out over the length of the point stock until the glue dries. Any thing else that rubber band type of clamping will work.

Just like Rybord said, you use it wrap it around a cue to hold the points in while they are gluing up. Not a really easy way to clamp it, so you wrap it up tightly. :)

By the way, our local Lowe's sells it by the foot (or at least used to), not sure now.
