unless they played two races to 11 for $7500 each (highly unlikely) then doubtful. Are you going to Chattanooga? Jackson wants me to go with him, nasty, and Stevie. I haven't decided yet. Do you know what the party scene is like in Chattanooga?
Not sure what it's like. Don't know if i'm going or not.

What party scene.... Does that answer your question. Of course, something can be found anywhere, but Chatanooga is certainly not a steaming cauldron of excitement and desire (yes the literary exaggeration was intentional).

I think that just sealed it for me. They are leaving on Thursday and I really don't need to take anymore time off work anyway.

the two sets were race to 11 for a 1000 probaly wont get to play that game again,be ahead set or longer race

Just a lil snipet from the summary for those of us that dont read;
"Van Boening made sure that Archer was on his toes immediately as he jumped out on the board with an eight pack and eventually took the $4000 prize with a final score of 11-5."

Pretty strong, doesnt really do it justice.

Archer missed 1 ball, got hooked on a break i think, and on a break the 8 ball kicked the CB in the side, so he had 3 shots to the best of his recollection that set, thats tought to fade playing SVB a race to 11 on a barbox.. He got flat beat, he wasnt upset and complemented SVB's game. Shane is on a roll to say the least. The 2 or 3 sets he lost to Alex were small so when he does lose its at the right time, everthing is going his way, for now and I think the now will be a long now not a 6 month hero.. He is the top player in the world at this given time, but Archer has been at it longer and stood the test of time, Efren playes better all around. Shane is in elite company and I believe he will stand the test of time. I hope so, i'm damn proud to know him and happy for him. I'm not jealous of him when I see people excell and do good it motivates me in a positive way. We should all celebrate his success I do.Eeven though my dumb ass bet against him in DCC after I told everyone dont bet against him, what was I thinking?

It says he won a beautiful Gibson guitar too this week. Gibsons are worth $2-3K for the nice ones like Les Pauls.

Not a bad extra to go along with all that cash.

This just points out what a travesty winner breaks is. Taking NOTHING way from SVB who I admire greatly...it is just silly to have a World Champion like Johnny sit in his chair for 8 racks and effectively lose a match that he never shot a ball in.

Look at that score. Johnny beat him 5-3 after the 8 pack.

Bobby Pickle beat Johnny last year with a six pack.

Making a ball on the break AND having a makable shot on the lowest ball involves a CONSIDERABLE amount of LUCK. At SVB and Johnny's level, give them that LUCK and they can all put on multiple packs...which proves nothing except that there is a considerable amount of luck in the game of 9 Ball and that winner breaks only ADDS to luck factor.

Many seem to think that 10 Ball is the answer to the luck factore in 9 Ball and maybe so, but spot the 9 on the break and eliminate winner breaks and a BIG measure of luck is eliminated.

Regards,
Jim
