Looks like thats going to be the final match, whats the line? Alcano looks great today he drilled Rolf and the Japanese man he is playing now, Shane didnt look as sharp as he did yesterday,

So senemental favorite aside, whats the line on this match?

Ronnie is real dangerous in the finals. As much as I'd like to see Shane win, I don't think he has enough seasoning to pull it off. If I was betting, it would be Alcano.

RA has already accomplished alot this year. SVB also has shown us he is capable. Whoever wins deserves it.

When will the finals start?

Huh? He won a major already, didn't he? It may have been slickly marketed as a "World Championship", but that does nothing to reduce the magnitude of his accomplishment. He beat a crapload of superpros to win it.

He's beaten some of the Filipinos straight up for the cash. Saying he doesn't have the seasoning to win is an insult.

 I think 8ball is just voicing out his opinion. Your saying that Alcano does not stand a chance against Alcano is more of an insult to a player of Alcano's caliber. Can we just respect each other's opinions?;)

It will be a toss-up. Whoever catch a gear and keeps stepping on the pedal
and doesn't look back, will win it. The crowd will definitely be behind SVB, but
I wouldn't count Alcano's posse to be passively quiet if this goes neck-a-neck.

I like to see Alcano complete a hat trick, but an SVB win will bring more
weight to the American pool world and pool in general. All we need is a US
pool player to make it to the mainstream, he could be the Messiah that we're
waiting for to pull pool (and American sponsors) up from the doldrums. It's
been in the gutters for quite some time now...

Alcano is in the lobby where he opened up a booth to take action. The line is going out the door. Johnnyt

ok folks. It is Ronnie's turn to practice at the tv table right now. Match will start in less than 30 minutes. May the best man win.

just got the call from the tournment and the line is a pick'em. i dont think it will move,

I agree, it will be a toss-up between these 2 excellent players. Alcano is my sentimental favourite but an SVB win is fine too. Ronnie will have the edge in experience but SVB will have the crowd rooting for him so he will have strong moral support. May the best man win.

On paper, I'd have to give Alcano, the reigning world nine-ball champion, a very slight edge, but the game isn't played on paper. An intangible is that Ronnie was playing pool until 4:30 AM and is surely under-rested.

Shane is playing superbly, and his day may have arrived. He showed some nerves at the BCA Open in the final against Orcullo, but my guess is he learned a lot and got some seasoning that day, and he's ready to win his first major.

I'm predicting Shane beats Ronnie by 13-11, but this should be a real nailbiter.

OK, I'll take 3 games on the wire for Alcano. :)

I agree fatboy I don't think the line will move and although I am pulling for Shane both of these guys deserve to be here and if Ronnie ended up winning that would be ok too. Both are real nice gentlemen and both play unbelievably well. I just hope to see a great match and congratulations to both of them.
