So I had the pleasure of seeing Steve Lillis do his trick shot demo today. i was set up to play against him after the show, but was too pissed off. During his trick shot show- which was quite fun and I participated in- someone decided to walk off with my break cue. It was just a simple kaiser Jump break cue. 60$ off ebay- so its NOT that big of a loss. Just saying- watch your cues- I can't blame anyone but myself on this. Whoever did it just walked out with it- no case or anything. I should have put it away.

Sucks really cause not only did i lose a cue- but I was too pissed to play him after words. So i lost a real chance to learn something. And being on college and not being able to get off- this was a big opportunity.

no big loss is true
doesn't matter what was stolen
but it's all about principal
i hate a f***ing thief more than anything
when you find out who did it, shoot him in the kneecap :D :) :eek:

Well someone of that caliber deserves my best game. I can't give him my best game with a distraught mind set running around like a chicken with my head caught off looking for my cue. Its not like I need the cue to break- but I needed it in the mental game.

Someone will be dumb enough to use the cue in the room where it was stolen. I will be getting it back.
 
Thievery rates right in there with murder as far as I'm concerned.

One time, I was playing a match and laying my cues on the table behind me. I picked up my break cue, broke the balls, turned around and my shooting cue was gone. I didn't have my back turned more than 15 seconds.

Next day, I found it in a pawn shop right down the street. I also found out who pawned it but that story will go to the grave with me.

Another time, I had an old Meucci sneaky pete and I left it behind our pool counter (duh!). Next day, I came in and it was gone. I asked the bartender if she had seen anybody with it and she said that Albert's son had said he had talked to me and he could borrow it which was not true.

Albert was one of our regular customers and just a great guy. That night, when he came in, I told him what happened and asked where his son was.

He said that he was no son of his anymore and would pay me for the stick. He went on to tell me that his youngest daughter had a deformed spine from birth and a doctor told the family if they could pay $4500 (no insurance), he would do the operation to correct it.

They had saved up right at 4 grand but made the mistake of keeping the money at their house and the son had stole it the night before.

That was the coldest thing I ever heard in my life.

I took up a silent collection for Albert over the next month. He was a proud man and refused to take it but I found out where he lived and gave it to his wife. The daughter ended up getting the operation some time later.

Never saw but heard the son was somewhere in California. I always dreamed he was taking a long chilly nap at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

It still hurts to tell this story and it happened 20 years ago.

Back to your story. Check the pawn shops in the area. Most of these guys aren't too smart.

I hate thieves. And beating someone out of their money does not count as thievery. At least that story had a happy ending.

When I find who took it- they'll need an operation to fix their back.
 
Just a thought did the place where the theft occur have security cameras ? to review the recordings..man it would be nice if they did...
 
Yeah, there is one camera at a kind of shitty angle. They wouldn't review it yesterday because they couldn't get in touch with the lady in charge. Probably wont be able to see it till monday- but there is NO way i'm not watching the video. All the guys that work there know my cue- so if they see it anywhere (probably stolen by a frat kid and is at a frat house, at least thats my thought) they said they'd let me know. Then it will be time to go and retrieve it.
