Table on wheels possible?

tables

I am glad i quit dealing with people who know it all. I did not think OTLB, used glue on slates! It is amazing what magicians can do.LOL Glen, quit wasting your time. He knows everthing and you can not help the people that argue and then do as you tell them.

"The only 9ft table you're going to be even close to doing that with is a Diamond 9ft ProAm, and yes if you mark out the foot pattern and return the table to the same spot, it'll go right back to level.

Glen"

When you say "only" what do you mean????????

What I said was IMO the frame that the slate sits on is better built than on a Diamond.
Then you need to check out the frame of a ProAm....I'm done;)

you mean this?

No, I mean the 1 1/2" thick plywood on all 4 sides from top to bottom, the 3/4" thick plywood standing on end from the bottom panel to the cross members, add that all together and you can compare that to a gluelam beam 4 1/4" thick by 15 1/2" deep. What you pictured is just the leveling system;) supported by the frame of the table. Learn something about stress and compression, then you'll know something about the frame work of a Diamond ProAm;)

LOL I'm glad someone else caught this. If I remember right, he said he can do the seams without using ANYTHING in them.

I personally think we could market some kind of OTLB vs RKC gameshow here. Combination Jeopardy/UFC style competition. LOL Anyone else like the idea?

thats right, I also can do this with nothing in the seams like bondo or wax. I told another mechanic in here how to do it also. Someguys are so far back they just think their in first place. I said to use glue because the guy was going to jack up the table and move it. Lets have a mechanic tournament!!!!!!

Include sub-rails extentions, cushion replacement, leveling slates, Simonis 860HR Green Cloth and I'm in for $5000.00...how about you OTLB? 4 1/2" corner x 5" side pockets OK with you? Winner takes all? In a pool room with at least 2 matching 9fts...that neither of us has ever been in!

tables

No problem. I will get with the other mechanics on here, and we will make the rules. We can come up with the spot, also.Who want's to side bet. I got 100.00 on Glen. Anybody else?:grin-square:

Boy I can't believe it!!!!! I would have thought you would have bet your life savings, or did you. Thought you would have had alot more faith in Glen than $100.

Glen is likely to be a faster mechanic than me in certain areas but I would complete the job and it would be fine. This forum is sided with him as he has posted nearly 3,000 times. My posts are unusual, challenging and you guys just can't handle it. I think a mechanics tournament would be fun and I would love to go against you LCCS and everyone else. You never make friends going head to head on anything. As it is, it seems I have only a few here.

So when you make the parameters and come up with a field of contestants from all over the country let me know.

So.... we got action or what?

Sounds like the Challenge I put online a few months ago to weed out the idiots in NorCal. I hope this one draws in a better response! DCC would be a good time/place for the challenge- plenty of tables, AZB followers, customers, and action!

Can we add in arm wrestling..... just to see who's carried the most slate,too.....?

Anyway to get scotch doubles scenerio?
East coast vs. west coast?
Something! lol:grin:
The winner would qualify for the undisputed king of AZB Mechanics.... A new category for the Action Room!:grin-square:

I could not meet you in person. I would not be able to restrain myself.  As i said in the past, i stopped dealing with people that know it all. I am still learning the ropes and always have room for improvement. On the other hand, my table work is very well and i am proud of it. You are the only Master mechanic that has ever came on here and nobody want's to here ,your off the wall magician tricks. Get some dignity and gain some respect, like me and the other mechanics, on here. As far as the 100.00 goes, I would give it to you, to just shut up and do what you said you were going to do, twice. You said you were done on here. I am sure you will probably say you did not say that. Just like you said you did not glue slates. I do not know the exact words.
Ron

sorry to hear you feel that way, that you want to threaten me with physical assualt. I am glad to hear you have an open mind. If you met me I don't think you would feel the same way. Most people find me very easy going and laid back. Sometimes for lack of support in this forum a stance has to be made. Sadly you attacked me on my very first post so we got off to a bad start. Lets forget that and I am man enough to say I am sorry if I have offended you or anyone else. Yes I did say I would quit posting but sometimes we don't all do what we say. I had a reason for coming back in here and now after your last post believe that your right, I should stay out. You don't have to send me $100 either. I am sure you do good work and have never said that anyone on here doesn't. In fact I am sure that many mechanics on here do a better job than me on certain aspects of the discipline. But when it comes to developing new ways to do things, thats what I like to do. To fault me because I want to do things dif is wrong but your right.

I posted this topic in the room owner section about moving tables fei

Keeping my word is important so I will do my best to stay out of here from this post on but I will keep posting in other forums on Az as I never said I would limit myself to them.......

What happened to my original question? You guys high jacked my thread with your childish spit ball fights. Come on..get back to the original question. I suspect most of the people that reply in this forum are experts in table mechanics...but all do it a little different. viva la differance!

AMEN! That was the point of my post and it got taken even farther off tangent. It seems like in this section, about half of the legit questions get ignored and turned into a bickering match on who is better at something else. Here's an even better (and less sarcastic) idea. How about we keep tally of the first person to accurately answer each question posted by someone actually seeking an answer!

Ok starting NOW! Go! LOL

Back in the day when we sold Kasson tables we made 4 small platforms from 3/4 ply with dolly wheels mounted to one side
to move tables around the showroom. On the top side there were 3 small pieces of furring strips screwed down in a U shape
so a leg wouldn't slide off the platform. Lift the table from the side and slide a platform under each leg then do the other side.
2 guys lift, 1 guy slides the platforms in place. We made several sets of these and they worked fine.

I should also mention that when we had our bar in TN we initially used a pallet jack to move bar boxs
but then modified a furniture dolly which worked better. Get an end up with the pallet jack, slide the dolly
under and moving was easy.
