Tad Cue-BEAM-Tad Tips-Need Some Info

Recently acquired my first Tad cue.
Refinished by the Tad shop, with new Tad tips.
I didn't think I would like the thin handle, but it doesn't seem to matter with this cue, and I really like the Tad tips.

I have no idea of the year, or if Tad himself made the cue.
Either way I like the cue, but any comments or information would be appreciated.

I know the pics are bad, I get it, I suck as a photographer and have no artistic ability.
Yes, I was hanging upside down from a tree when I took them.

Tad Cue

Very nice Tad Ted.This cue is older tad made in the early 80`s.NICE CUE TED.
 
It looks very similar to a cue I just saw. HMMM birds eye and green wrap? Very similar.
But a nice old player.
 
Cortland or irish linen wrap? Either way this baby looks sweeeeeeeet.
Pics aren`t that bad, be easy on yourself, especially if you were upside down when you were taking the pics, that takes talent in itself. Nice cue my friend. Take care

Your cue would have to have been made after 1988. The very first TAD cue with that logo was made that year for a local player and friend of Tad who helped design the logo.

Any idea what 24 81 means under the bumper?

It was most likely built in the early 2000's. The serial number is a big tip off and the style of bumper. Talk to Fred and he will pull up his little maroon book and tell you exactly when it was built and who it went to.

Please let us all know your impressions of the cue.

There is a blue veneer in between the green.
You just can't see it very well in my pics.
Look in the middle of the green veneers and imagine something blue.
I'll try and post a better pic of the ring.
 
Hey ted I didn't know polaroid made digital cameras. Nice nice pick up by the way!
 
Can anyone give an approximate retail price on this cue?? A friend of mine had one stolen a few years ago. It was a gift, so he had no idea of what it was actually worth.

Retail price is $2000 my first one I bought was retailed at $1800 about 5 years ago, they raised the price about a year or two ago.

This is one of my all time favorite cues, I played with one for 4 years, I wore the finish off it I used it so much. I had Jerry franklin repaint it, he passed away shortly after, so I put the cue into retirement. I still take it out and hit balls with it from time to time. I've had it 21 years-it was made with very old wood back then, so it hits extra sweet, I picked it out of about 8 of them. the grain is perfect, not to much birds eyes, its just right, its one of my favorite cues I own, i'll own it til i die.

PS I paid $950 brand new, not a great price back then but that particular cue was so good I didnt mind taking the worst of it, $750 back then was the right number. IMO
