TAD cue identification

Danny, screw the rubber bumper out (it's probably just held in by a wood screw) and in you should see some numbers stamped into the wood tenon that the butt cap is sleeved over. Give them a call and they should be able to tell you exactly.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is a discernable time when either Fred or Tad made the cues. From what I understand Fred mostly assembled and turned cues, leaving the point and butt sleeve work to Tad with Suzie doing the tip/ferrule installation.

It's more like a collaboration of efforts, I don't know the exact date that Fred started being a more active part of the cue making. I know for a certain time he just worked there on and off part time, then switched to full time but I couldn't tell you when it happened.

I asked along these lines, as I heard that Tad made the higher end and his son was doing the lower end ( I have one of those).

I was told Tad makes them ALL but his son helps. Whatever that means.

that's right. although i'm sure nothing leaves the shop within tad's ok.

I called there early in the morning on 6/1 and spoke with Tad. I told him my TAD-1 had the number 2417 inside the butt cap, and he graciously looked it up and described my cue to me as well as informing me that he made it last year.

I asked him how I could tell if he or Fred made the cue, and he told me that "if it has my name on it, then I made it". That's good enough for me. It's just flat out amazing how cleanly that simple straight grain maple
cue he made hits the ball. Even I make balls with it. :D
