Taig 4 jaw replacement parts needed

So I got a package deal for a taig lathe. I got it as spare parts to build a nicer bigger finish lathe but the 4 chuck jaw does not work.
I opened the jaw and I realized the teeth are ripped. The previous owner obviously did not take care very well of this.

Can I buy these as a replacement or I have to buy a entire new chuck?

is it a small or large bore chuck............ buy a new chuck .... they are not that expensive

It's the small one. I was thinking I could salvage this before I buy a new one. If it's cheap enough and it's worth it I will try to save it if not I well..
But I feel it would be a shame to trow a entire piece for 4 small parts.

Call Taig Lathes. They will sell parts ,or a new chuck, what ever you need.

Not that I ignore advice but you were the first one to to actually say that it cannot be done. All I asked is if those parts are commercially available. They are not apparently. So it goes in the trash and I am going to buy a new one.
 
Yes you can buy those parts. I have bought them. All you have to do is call taig and talk to Cliff
480-895-9648 . The biggest problem that I see is that if the jaws are that messed up the scroll is bound to be damaged as well.

Here was the mentality behind it because it's apparent that some people have a hard time wrapping they're heads around this one.

If I can find the replacement jaws cheap enough let's say under 20$ it would be worth giving it a shot. The scroll is not in perfect shape either but for a side lathe that I only use to turn big blocks of wood where precision is not required this would work just fine. If the parts are not available or they are to expensive to justify I would trow it away of course. It seems that you have the - o just replace it camp, it can't be done came ( without providing a reason). And my fave Y U ignore good advice. What good advice? Good advice would be hey call so and so because they have it and here is the number and it should cost this much.

Also taig does not make the 4 jaw chuck. They do not sell it. From what I have talk to taig in the past and trust me I talked quite a bit with them that 4 jaw design was made as a way to get around some patent issues with Hightower. I can't remember the exact reason but I know for sure that they only sell the 3 jaw and not the 4. The only ones that sell the 4 are Hightower, Bassel, Tom from my knowledge.

Everyone can take a part and replace it, not many can take a Brocken part and make it like new again- my father.
 
Taig 4 jaw scroll chuck item number 1060 $75.60 there are even videos on there site showing disassembly and reassembly. Hope this helps.
