At least 5 Taiwanese players are coming over for the 14.1 US Championships to be held in Virginia Oct 22-25, 2015 and then play in the 2015 US Open 9 Ball.

Pin-Yi Ko
Ping-Ching Ko
Yu-Lung Chang (world pool assoc current #1)
Ka-Lun Hsu (Sa-Ya superman)

and one other. Jung-Lin Chang or maybe Cheng-Yu Hsuan (Kevin) but he doesn't play 14.1

Let's hope the WPA sets Barry straight and all the money is posted in 2015 and is paid out by a third party at the time of the event.
 
I guess none of them read these forums. Hope someone clues them in about the non-payment that happens at the OPEN every year. Johnnyt
 
Good point. The Ko brothers got upset over the shenanigans at the CSI events, just wait until they get Behrman'd
 
From a fundamentals and mechanics standpoint I like watching Ko Pin Yi play more than almost anyone. I can't wait to see these guys play some 14.1. I don't know how common that game is over there, but I did see them playing it on that one youtube clip from the "Taiwan TOI" thread. I'm sure they can run tons of balls regardless though.

if Barry can't cover a measly $10K @ 90 days arrears, after claiming he got a loan to do so two weeks ago, terms of COD with vendors, and pool hall up for sale - do you really think he can carry Q Masters PLUS the US Open into OCT?

he couldn't even wire $500/player as a payment plan.

and SVB's payment hasn't been confirmed.

14.1 was fairly popular back in the days in Taiwan - 90s and early 2000s. Obviously, its much easier to give weight and that the handicap given seems to be more than what it actually is. When I first started playing pool in Taiwan in the mid to late 2000s 9-ball has already taken over by far as the most popular game. There were still glimpses here and there where the old school player shows up and casually run multiple racks of 14.1.

I don't think any of the players listed actually plays any serious 14.1 or even practices for it. The older pros in Taiwan certainly all play it well and are capable of running 140 balls.

I agree these guys just seam to be more fundementaly sound its like the Asian invasion in golf where. 17 yr old girl just hit number 1 in the world ,, I've said a many of time add big cash like we want to see ,, and U.S. Americans will be seen in the rear view mirror as a whole we are no where near as fundementaly sound across the board
