Talisman or Whitten confused?

Well this week I am going to order a New Case, and too be truthful I am in a State of Confusion. Whitten, or Original Talisman. Cost appears to be about the Same. What would you buy, and why, am leaning toward? CONFUSED?

Without a question I would go with a Whitten if I was choosing between the two. Talisman seem to be good cases, but I think Whitten cases are sleek and not over done.

I was in the same situtation a few weeks ago before I ordered my case.
My choice were Whitten, Justis, or Ron Thomas. I have seen all three cases personally and like them all since each one offered their own unique style. I choose Ron Thomas because it reminded me of an It's Geroge Cue case I had and missed.

My buddy has a Whitten and the case has held up very well. Only problem he ever had was with the zipper which is common...it's a zipper.

Between those two I personally would go with the Whitten. Your resale value and overall construction is better with the Whitten. I say better because I have deconstructed both of them.

What the Web-Address for Ron Thomas? Curious, and can not find him with a Goog ;) le Search????

Ron Thomas

Unfortunately, Ron Thomas does not have a website just yet, but you could take a look at his cases by visitng Samples of Ron Thomas Cases. His cases are priced in comparison to Whitten and can be reached at 337-237-0163. If he doesn't pick up leave a message.

Good luck... will post pics of my cues and case soon. Case comes in next week.

He needs to make 3X6 cases in that style. I would then consider his cases as my next and last major case purchase, his cases are nice but the case has to hold 3 cues and at least 5 shafts.

Thanks for the Link, appears interesting, and Pricey. Leaning more toward the Whitten, but I like the Back Pack Straps the Talisman has….

To beat the same drum as everybody else.

Whitten - Whitten - Whitten - Whitten - Whitten - Whitten.

or Instroke or Justis.

Ask Dan (I think) Whitten about doing the straps you want. After all it is a custom case.

Another vote for Whitten

I bought a Whitten 3x6 a few months ago and abolutely love it. It's classy, sleek and looks and feels great.

How much does that Baby Weight, the Whitten 3 x 6 ?

I haven't weighed it but it was, I think, a little lighter and definitely smaller than the instroke 3x5 that it replaced. Anytime you have 3 cues and 5 shafts in a case it's not going to be light...lol.

The talisman case is the way to go. I've owned many of the top cases available, including Whitten, Instroke, Porper and more. But I have to say my favorite case of all is my Talisman original. And let me give you a couple reasons why I like it more then the Whitten.
1. Cheaper
2. Pockets are why better. You have zippers on both sides of the pockets. You don’t have to unbuckle the pockets to get into them. Just use the zippers.
3. Lighter.
4. The shoulder strap is 10X better. You get two! I took one off because I don’t need one hanging around and I don’t carry the case like a back pack.
5. Do don’ have to mess around with cutting the plugs for the shaft tubes. If you get a different cue with different shafts you have to order new ones and re-cut. If you add joint protectors same issue.
6. You get a top strap!
7. Pegs on the bottom of the case are much larger and their rubber.
Take my word for it, Talisman all the way.

Got this PM the other day, and it makes several great points. Got to look at a Talisman Yesterday, and I am still thinking ;)

Here: type "heads" or "tails"

I'll flip a coin for ya.

Or, you can flip a coin yourself. Honestly, I think the pool of opinions re whitten vs. talisman has run dry over here. Try CCB, or RSB if you're brave enough.

PS. I have the Predator leather case (by instroke), which imo is very similar to a whitten in it's wonderfully sleek design. Not much help, am I?
