Taom Chalk

I gave a piece of Taom V10 to a buddy of mine to try out.......his feedback was that it puts too much spin on the cue ball.
It's in his head. He is not hitting the cue ball in the same spots and getting noticeably different amounts of english with different chalks. I believe this has also already been tested by Dr. Dave as well and shown to be false but it could easily be done if it hasn't been already.

I do believe that some chalks miscue a little easier than others though. Because of this we subconsciously will sometimes put less english on the cue ball when using chalks we have less confidence in (or subconsciously we will apply more english and hit closer to the edge of the cue ball with the chalks we have more confidence in) and this can give the false impression that we are getting more english from one chalk than another. Pretty good chance this is what your friend was doing, subconsciously putting more or less english than he thought he was based on his confidence level in the chalk's ability to grip.

So I've been playing with the V10 a couple of days now. With the Pyro I was chalking like regular chalk, pretty much every shot. With the V10 I decided to see how long I could go without re-chalking. I was on my 6th rack (9 ball) before I miscued on the 3 trying a hard draw back off the rail and up table. Probably more to do with my stroke, but that was how long it took for my first miscue.

So I'm not sure exactly how many shots one can take before chalking before risking a miscue, but I know that it is without a doubt more than 9, 10, or 15. Chalking once per rack I think will be how I do it now. Meaning this chalk should last until I'm in a retirement community.

Agreed, other than my buddy who says the V10 imparts too much spin on the cue ball, in over 100 posts / replies here, I’ve yet to hear a legit complaint or criticism about the Taom V10 chalk, other than the $ cost of it. That is quite impressive.

It's materials science not magic and comes down to the particle sizes as to what you see transferring onto the cueball... Since nano powders cannot be used in the manufacture of chalk in the USA, European Union or Japan because of health risks this is a pretty good clue as to COO... Are several brands out now that use the nano tech, some going back 4-5 years now... When OSHA or their counterpart in EU get around to testing, this may not be available so stock up and don't vacuum your table as the bag won't catch it and everyone in the room will get a dose... Nanos pass thru the skin and lung linings like they are there and go straight into the blood stream.. Spots lead the 5 out...... So far I have seen Joy Dustless, Zen, Sniper and Konllen actually state "nano technology" and more will be coming as more brands have it made.

Hmm, I just emailed the manufacturer asking the question that you have brought up. Sorta takes the esteem I have for this product down a notch or two. Will wait and see how , or if they will reply to the question put forth.
Gotta say every time I play now my hands are getting cleaner. There will be some residue of the old chalk permeating into the cloth that is tough to get out, no matter how much it's cleaned, but it's getting there , to a point that there's really nothing but a bit of sheen or glimpse of the old chalk being picked up from my bridge hand.

Will our Covid masks save our lives from this chalk?
After Renfro's statement, I'm not sure a N95 mask would even work, and don't get me started on the useless stuff we are told to cover our faces with. Got a non deliverable response from my 2 email attempts . I'll try another way, if I can find it.
