TAR 27: Bustamante is Waiting....June 1-3, 2012

Jcin

I've seen the changes you have made over the past few years. The Vegas action room, the purse money you put up for the players, the quality of the streams, interviews and players you have matching up all will lead to more success. You are doing it right and giving the people what they want, thanks I will be buying as well. The king of the hill format is a great way to keep it rolling.

Mr. Dechaine,
No you should not be called a "f****** baby" or told to "grow the f*** up". It's demoralizing for any grown man. With that said, as someone who has only been playing seriously for about a year and lurks this forum pretty religiously, openly complaining about it, doesn't bode well for what a "pro character" should be. Brush it off man. I know its easier said than done, but, Justin and TAR are literally giving you money. Shooting yourself in the foot hurts. You're to great of a player to not be welcome back to TAR, its a disservice to you and most importantly to the lacking number of fans. Just bite the bullet.

I am going to bite the bullet and take the post down. But what people in the industry have to realize is that everyone should be treated fairly. Him treating me like that and doing everything for busty is the same thing HE complains about on every Podcast about Charlie. I just think we all need to open our eyes.

Maybe because Busty plays lights out pool and acts like a complete gentleman...JCIN is begging the American players to step up....unfortunately only a couple are capable of conducting themselves in a professional manor.......

Well as long as you bring it up....

Here is what happened as I saw it:

Mike was practicing next to Busty for 30 minutes or so before his match Saturday morning at the 10 ball. About two minutes before the match starts he calls out Busty for having a phenolic tip on his break cue. No problem. Right is right. Ken goes and looks at it then brings it to me and asks if I think its 100% phenolic...I say "Yes its phenolic" and he agrees so he tells Busty he cant use the cue.

In the mean time Mike is in the corner with a big grin on his face like he just did something really cool. In my mind it was an obvious move to wait till minutes before the start to call out the tip and he was being a real ass about obviously being so happy about it. I asked Busty if he wanted me to find him a break cue. He said yes so I went to get one and Mike started crying about how I shouldnt be helping Bustamante to which I replied "I would do the same for you." Not to mention the fact that any single person in the crowd would go get Francisco a cue if asked. Its like he expected everyone to let him enjoy his little victory. It really pissed me off.

So I get Busty a cue. Mike starts out 2-0 and when Busty breaks the first time with the cue I got him he comes up dry. Few minutes later Santos shows up with a shaft with a leather tip on it for Busty. Not long after Mike is up like 3-1 or 3-2 or something and calls a break. He walks past me giving me a shitty look and muttering under his breath. It put me on tilt and I said "You really need to grow up Mike." Then there was some back and forth with the last words I heard from Mike as he walked away being "F%4K you Justin."

It was obvious Mike was pissed because I somehow screwed up his little masterstroke. I probably shouldnt have said anything as he walked by but after all I had went through with this kid in the previous weekend combined with trying really hard afterwords to give him the benefit of the doubt then he acts like a real asshole because god forbid I try to help someone out....it sent me on tilt.

So maybe I was wrong saying anything as he passed by. It is what it is and if I had it to do over again I probably wouldnt say anything just make a mental note about who deserves respect who doesn't. All that said I stand by my statement. Mike needs to grow up. He is burning bridges at the cyclic rate and I dont care how good you may play if you act like an ass people will choose to simply not deal with you.

It's called respect. If you google yourself Mr. Dechaine, this thread, along with many others will be shown. Your average pool player will have little, to no clue about you, so when they go and google you to find out about you, they'll come back with a sour taste at the thought of you, I know I did. You know that most people's opinion of you is sour, so why do you, a professional act in such a selfish, childish manner? If you were to be gracious to the people who are trying to promote the events you participate in, as well as the other players, you'd start getting talked about in a higher manner. There's a reason certain people are legends in pool, and it's not just their game that gets them there, figure what you want to remembered as.

Mike, I doubt anyone thinks you are a defective person. I for one think you are a good guy with a good heart. You just don't know what you don't know yet. And you can't be told anything. I can visualize you there two minutes before the match raising issue with Busties break cue. I can see you with that shite eating grin. It bothers people.

It was not a move. He was using a phenolic tip and he messed up. I wasn't happy, I was disappointed because it seems every time you turn your back in this game another player or promoter is trying to burn you. Believe it or not Justin your job was to run TAR, which you do unbelievable. The reason why you helped Busty is because he is playing next week for YOU. Its a joke and no better than anything else that goes on in pool. And before I said F^%$ you. I asked you every nicely with a please and thank you to just not get involved in my matches and Big old Justin couldn't handle that. Sorry Justin but be the day comes when you can make a ball and want to start playing professional pool, you'll see exactly where I am coming from. Till then, don't become the next Charlie and just run a successful business.

Kind of sad actually. They will get to know me by what you all have to say. I probably have never met one of you. You guys watch me play one set of pool against one person and you think you can judge me. LOL. good luck. I will be the first to admit the my attitude sucks. But I would rather be open with it than to whisper words in there ear during a match (they all do it). So thank you guys who sit behind a computer, probably never been to a tournament to chat with me. Its nice to meet you too.

Mike, Justins job is whatever Justin wants it to be. He helped Busty because hes a decent guy. He told you he would do the same for you and probably anyone else who would need it. Come on dude. I dont get how you can say helping Busty was a burn against you.

I'm with ya, been there done that Many times. In the heat of battle with your game and head on right, your perceptiveness of the surrounding area and all is Waaaaaaay different than any onlooker. It would be like watching a husband and wife going at it, and then you trying to step in.....good luck in that spot eh? Its no different.

"You don't know me!"

When both parties agree to what happened we don't need to "know you" to come to a verdict as to who was being a douche. Nor do we need to be able to "make a ball" to disagree with you.

Mike's a good guy with a lot of passion for the game. He just needs to figure some "LIFE" things out. We all have our demons so let's all try to forgive and forget. He has high ambitions and wants to win so I truly admire that in him. But he just needs to tone down the cockiness and the slight moves he tries to pull. I'm pulling for him. I'm sure he will snap out of it.

I wonder how busty wasnt banned from the tourney after using illegal equipment you do it in any other sport your out...Im sure there was a players meeting with details on what you can use...What about the guys busty beat with the illegal equipment? idk its unfortunate what took place with you and justin but the fact is it never would of took place if busty didnt break the rules..I hope everything works out and people realize emotions are high when your playing for that high of finish
