Ok, let me start off by saying I am not looking to rip off Kim Davenport in any way. It's just too hard to find the original so I am making my own. (not for sale) I wanted to be able to make something that my daughter and I can use that a training tool and a game and the target pool idea was about the best solution.
So I decided to make up a few shots ( I got 20 so far) and do a digital version of them so if anybody wants, they can have it for free. I also printed out my own target on a material called Artists Heavy Fabric which is about as close as I could come to pool table felt. In my shot diagrams I used the actual file of my target and superimposed it onto the pool.bz table. I also am adding a shot set-up description and a picture explaining the english I apply to get position.
My plan is to make myself a bunch of flash cards, each depicting one of the shots (my goal is to do at least 50). The a person would draw a card from the pile and attempt the shot. The game would be good for 1 to ? players and you would set a point limit of 50 or 100 or whatever.
Ethics issue: Ok not only is this stealing from Davenports idea but it is also using the pool.bz table image. I have no desire to sell this at all but do you think it is ok to give the files to someone for their own use? Or should I just keep it to myself.
So squash the whole thing or share it with everybody?
