Given the choice, which one would you choose and why? I would love to hear from someone who has hit both ,in order to get an unbias opinion. My reference cue is a Richard Harris. Thanks jeff in ohio
P.S.- I think I hear that dam cue bug buzzing around!!!

The RICHARD HARRIS;)

On topic: having owned a couple HERCEKS and many TASC's you can't make a "wrong"
decision......enjoy

Both HERCEK and TASC are consumate custom cue makers. Either can make a cue hit any way you prefer. Tip choice will also influence how a cue hits.

My primary playing cue since the late 80's has been a SW.....that's why I'd be partial to your HARRIS. Let me know if/when you want to sell it.

Thanks, Adam

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and buy one but....I need to decide between a Hercek and aTascarella. Chime in! thanks jeff in ohio

I favor Hercek over Tascarella, and yes - I've hit with both.

It's personal preference, as always..... the both "hit a ton!!"...

I own a Hercek and have hit with a Tascarella. My overwhelming choice would be Hercek. But to be fair, the Tascarella I tried was a short splice...not his full-splice.

I'm no expert but fwiw... I like Hercek better because the design he does seem more "classic". I've never played with either or for that matter held either in my hands, but I am on Joel's waiting list. :)

I've been fortunate to own several of both, and have had both short and full splice cues from Pete.

Hercek is the undisputed winner of this battle.

Joel's cues absolutely SMOKE Pete's in both quality and play, imo.

Plus, Joel is a way easier person to work with.

There is no contest as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for everyones input. I was able to hit both a Hercek and a Tascarella. Both cues scream quality and mystique. When I hit them it was quickly apparent that, for me, it was going to be a Tascarella. Not knocking Joel's cue in the least, but the Tascarella just talked to me. Marcus ( FAST_N_LOOSE) talked me into- (I was a question asking, pain in the rear) Pete SR's former playing cue. I can't believe how well this cue plays and matches my style of play. Thank you Marcus.
thanks jeff in ohio

In My Opinion

I've owned many cues from both of these cue makers, second hand. Both were very nice cues. When I called Joel, I was treated with nothing less than very courteous professionalism, he was very nice and took the time to talk to me about what I wanted in a cue and I'm now on the list awaiting for my name to come up. He made me feel like he was appreciative of my business and my interest in his fine cues. Tascarella on the flipside of the coin, immediately began asking me what measurements I wants the cue to be, from the forearm to the butt, he didn't want just the length and weight, he wanted dimensions that in my mind only a cuemaker would know. He kind of freaked me out with his arrogant attitude. In the end, he wouldn't take my order, because I didn't know what I wanted. But, Hey, Maybe he's right, Maybe I didn't know what I wanted to order, But I do know what I don't want, and that's to order a Tascarella.

Hercek

I prefer the Hercek over the Tascarella, I've played with both cues, my Hercek plays better than the Tascarella. This is my personal opinon.

Charlie

Hey Howard ( Greg), really enjoyed talking to you in the action room
at DCC this year.

I own both and the Tascarella hits better IMO. But that's jusyt my opinion. You know what they say about a$$holes and opinions.

I'm Sure Everybody Already Knows My Opinion, But I Would Take The Tascarella. I've Owned Alot Of Different Cues, And Have Hit With Just About Everything, And I Prefer A Tascarella Over Everything. Hit And Playability Is Totally Subjective Though, So It Is A Purely Personal Choice.

P.s. Jeff, I Am Glad You Like The Cue, I Knew You Would.
