First, it was highly debatable that this thread served any purpose at all, at least as far along as I read it which I think was a few pages or so. Second, this unimportant thread was causing issues with site sponsors. Unless you and the other posters that are objecting to the deletion want to pick up the tab for the lost sponsors I think it is in the forums best interest to delete a thread that had little value anyway. Jerry did say that it is still in limbo somewhere and could be revived if Mike and Dave thought it should be.
I could see the site taking a stand for a valuable thread. Taking a stand against the folks providing your income for little reason is foolhardy. I just worked over twenty-four hours straight and then gave the work away. It wasn't worth losing a $75K a year and growing customer account over a few thousand dollars.
Sorry to disagree in practice when I agree in principle but sometimes a smart businessman chooses his battles. This wasn't one worth fighting for AZB.
