With some great events coming I would like tell you that you should check your system first before buying the PPV's.

I don't like to see someone buy it and realize they needed to spend money on a good connection first !

Click this link and read the left side of the page. It has a Windows Media area so you can see if you have the latest version of the viewer inslalled.

http://www.accu-stats.com/liveppv.html

Then you will see a Java area. Java is neccesary for the chatroom.

It also has a FAQ's area then the most important thing I think is SPEED !!!

PLEASE TEST YOUR SPEED !

It is very very important to have a good connection.
If you don't the stream will be freezing up on you and you won't be happy with it.

So please check this out on AccuStats webpage. tyvm Zilla

From the Accu-Stats website:

Test your internet connection speed!
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

As long as your download speed is greater than 500 kbps
you should receive the broadcast properly.
Be sure to choose the New York City server for your test.

Thanks, mine was 6400 today. Friday the WPBA matches were stopping and starting, Yesterday it was a little better.I dont know what my speed was during the feed. That is one reason some people dont get the streams, they dont have high speed.

I believe that Accu-Stats streams at 3 different settings, 500kbps being the lowest, not sure of the other two. This allows people with a faster connection to receive a better feed.

My download is 3.4 Mbps, and my upload is really poor at 0.18 Mbps, I am kind of preparing to buy the whole event of US Open, not the straight pool tournament, Nonetheless whenever I watch one of the guys stream live "free" one, it usually keeps freezing, then work again, every 10seconds or so, it freezes 2-3 seconds then presume and work good for 10-15secs, so the question is, will that happen to me in the Accustats paid stream? or will it work alright for me?

Thanks.

Accu-Stats PPV Speeds

Hi Guys!

All the speeds I've seen posted here are quite sufficient.

Figure to be streaming at around 600 kbps so any download speed greater than that should be fine.

A warning to those with wireless connections: If you can hardwire your laptops to a modem or router you will have a better experience.

Video is a funny thing that requires a CONSTANT download speed unlike regular data or websurfing.

The small dips in speed are barely noticeable when looking at webpages but will cause hiccups and frame skipping in Flash or Windows Media.

Figure to be using either the traditional Windows Media Player or perhaps Silverlight for the stream.

Quick tip for Windows Media Player: MAKE SURE that your file types have the .asf (Windows Media File) checked.

In XP this is found by right clicking the top of the Windows Media Player frame - then Tools - then Options - then File Types. The top checkblock is for .asf files.

In Vista you have to go to Control Panel - File Assoications. You should see the info there to click the .asf file structure.

Thanks to SDE and Oldzilla for keeping me informed on questions.

Jim
